(5 Customer Reviews)
On this 2006 release, pop crooner Engelbert Humperdinck offers up an entertaining collection that mixes old chestnuts with new recordings. While the deep-voiced, U.K.-bred singer presents lounge-ready standards (see the swooning classics "Spanish Eyes" and "Release Me"), fans of the Hump may be most interested in the previously unissued title track, a smooth, string-laden number that perfectly suits the performer's romantic, Don Juan persona. Engelbert Humperdinck Totally Amazing Songs Totally Amazing Music Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) An Outstanding Singer and Performer All of Engelbert's LP's and CD's are great works of art, but his new CD Totally Amazing Live just brings home what everyone will witness once they listen to this new CD. Sure, some of his early songs are there but new ones are here too. "Honky Tonk World", Somebody Like You, "Cry", Totally Amazing", "My Way". These songs are awesome songs sung the way Engelbert can sing a song with class and stle. "Columns of Gray" is the most moving song that tells a very touching story that only Engelbert can bring to life. If by some chance someone has never heard of Engelbert, buy this for the "Columns of Gray". This one song shows all the power, drama, strength, and vocal range in this outstanding entertainer - you will not be disappointed!!! The amazing totally amazing album Engelbert pulls out all the stops on this cd. From the very first note he
sings to the last. My very own favorite
is the heartbreakingly tender version
of Too Young. Nobody does it better.
Not even Nat! This is a great cd to
own and listen to. I play it at least
10 times a day! That's how enjoyable
it is! Submitted by sarahmoses (columbus, ga. usa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Totally Amazing Great vocal delivery, Engelbert is still going strong.
Awesome Band, the best band ever recorded with Engelbert. (and I have them all 76 records)
I wonder if this is his regular band or Studio musicians.

Totally Amazing
$12.79 Lyricist: Tyler Spencer. Electric Six: Dick Valentine (vocals); Johnny Na$hinal, The Colonel (guitar); Smorgasboard (strings, clarinet, bass instrument); Tait Nucleus? (synthesizer); Percussion World (drum, timbales). Personnel: Christian Doble (alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet); Kevin Bayson (trumpet); Smorgasbord (Clavinet, electric bass). Additional personnel: Christian Doble (alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet); Kevin Bayson (trumpet). Recording information: Big Sky Studios, Ann Arbor, MI; Hamtramck Sound Machine. Photographer: Alicia Gbur. On its aptly titled 2008 outing, FLASHY, the Detroit-based dance-rock troupe commonly known as Electric Six unveils another raucous collection of gleefully hedonistic tunes. Blatantly referencing one of the key singles from its '03 debut, FIRE, the band offers up "Gay Bar Part Two," a lively, stomping number that sets the tone for FLASHY. Other highlights of the record include the fast-moving "Formula 409" and the faux power ballad "Heavy Woman," tracks that showcase frontman Dick Valentine's supremely campy vocals. Though these songs aren't likely to convert many non-believers, those seeking a rollicking Electric Six revival will find it in FLASHY. Electric Six's fifth album kicks off with the brassy, Latin-tinged "Gay Bar Part Two," which has absolutely nothing to do with the original "Gay Bar" but everything to do with Dick Valentine and company's finely honed sense of the ridiculous. Harking back to one of their Fire hits with this songtitle was intended as a shameless marketing ploy, but Flashy feels like a shout-out to the band's first album in other ways: the band dials down the disco-rock of albums like Switzerland and I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me from Being the ...
