THIS ALBUM ALSO INCLUDES A 2 HR. BONUS DVD!!!------------------------------------------------------Within an industry that has commercialized hip hop music to the point that it has become "pop" music it is hard to find a major label artist that can grab your attention or that is even believable anymore. Knowing that, many fans have turned back to the independent game as a means of hearing rap music that has not been watered-down. Recently Described by XXL Magazine as "one of the tightest independent artists we've ever heard," SHANE CAPONE is considered to be one of the purest & rawest emcees in the game today. The product of a very turbulent childhood Shane's walk in life has not been an easy one. After witnessing the attempted murder of his mother by his own father at the age of 7, the South Carolina-born emcee along with his recovering mother packed everything they owned into a car and moved to Detroit. Bouncing from aunt and uncle's homes to trailer parks Shane and his mother finally settled into the low-incoming housing complex, Lawrence Park. It was there that young Capone was introduced to the early boom of hip hop. Completely drawn to the early sounds of The Fat Boys, Run-DMC & Whodini young Capone quietly started penning his first raps... In 1997, along with emcees Cein G & KAOS, Capone formed the group M.O.B. and achieved regional success with their first album "Welcome to Detroit MuthaFuckaz." And after some line-up changes (Cein G was replaced by Phat Mic) M.O.B. released their follow-up album "Terror..." in 1999. Then in 2000, due to a "luke warm" response to the second M.O.B. album, Shane decided to branch out on his own and form Rock City Records... Working the early Detroit Underground mixtapes Shane built his weight up as a solo artist. And by the time his first solo project "Flood These Streetz" hit the underground scene there was such a buzz about SHANE CAPONE in Detroit that many national distributors came calling to carry the album. Then after months of hand-to-hand, out-of-the-trunk record sales Capone accepted a deal for his album, and new record label, to be distributed nationally. This turned out to be a highly successful move with "Flood These Streetz" generating more then $448,000 in records sales to date and solidifying SHANE CAPONE to a national audience. Coming full circle to 2006, SHANE CAPONE drops his sophomore album "Heated Speech." And if the first week sales are any indicator (8,700 copies the first week) "Heated Speech" is destined to surpass Capone's first solo in measures of retail success... In an independent game where most artists fade away after a couple years, SHANE CAPONE has all but dominated. Thru solo albums, group efforts with M.O.B., and multiple mixtape appearances, Capone has garnered over 92,000 units in record sales to date!!! In 2007 SHANE CAPONE will mark 10 years, a full decade, in the game. And regardless of whether you love him or hate him one thing if for sure, you gotta ... Respect The Hustle!!!

Very talented This is the second album I've purchased by this artist and will continue to buy anyhting he puts out, Shane Capone is what I consider to be one of the only real (non-pop) rappers left in the industry. Submitted by Crackadude (Orlando, FL.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$12.69 After the success of their album "Farm Living", The Disgruntled Sherpa Project is back with their follow-up album, Keeping it Real. Guitarists Joe Boylan, Dan Perry, Bassist Walt Mamaluy, Guitarist George Wright, and Drummer Wayne Lee depart from the country-influenced songs of Farm Living and, according to the band, the new album has a more a "rock" feel to it, that wasn't quite ready in the debut album."This is much more of a rock album whereas Farm Living was closer to country. It was a conscious decision and we added George Wright and Wayne Lee who are much more into hard rock than country. I spent a lot of time listening to Weezer and Metallica and started writing more songs using the drop D tuning which adds to a heavier sound," adds Boylan. In naming the album, Perry explains: "Keeping it Real is a phrase that is thrown around so much, that it has become more of a joke than anything else. I've always used that phrase in that sense and we've said for years not that that would be a great album title. The title reflects the album as well, as far as the music goes as well,""The album brings you everywhere from hard rock, stripped acoustic, ...
