This 1991 movie starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in a special edition. Bonus footage incldues deleted scenes, featurettes, stills, gallery. POINT BREAK is the high-velocity thrill ride in which clean-cut FBI agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) goes head to head with surfer renegade Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) in this nonstop action drama. Utah is assigned to go undercover, investigating a string of 28 bank robberies by a gang called the Ex-Presidents. With very little to go on, as the Ex-Presidents are adept at their trade, deal only in cash, and never leave behind clues, Utah's only lead comes from his partner, Pappas (Gary Busey). Pappas believes that the Ex-Presidents are a surfer gang, lead by charismatic adrenalin junkie Bodhi. Posing as a surfer himself, Utah slowly becomes a member of Bodhi's gang, enticed by his energy and craziness. As Utah's investigation goes deeper, with dazzling extreme sports hijinks that involve night surfing, sky diving, and well-executed bank robberies that serve as the glue between his world and Bodhi's, Utah must ultimately choose between duty and friendship. Director Kathryn Bigelow presents a well-sculpted masterpiece with this action-lover's dream, adding another gem to an already glowing filmography (K-19: THE WIDOWMAKER, WILD PALMS, and THE WEIGHT OF WATER). Theatrical Release: July 12, 1991.
Shot on location in Southern California and in Oahu, Hawaii.
Director Kathryn Bigelow says of POINT BREAK, "What's interesting about this film is that it's set in a landscape you think you know, yet from frame one of the movie, it suddenly becomes very tribal, primal and foreign. The beach community is explored in the film as an exotic, mysterious world full of these strange characters. You feel like you're entering some really bizarre culture that somehow exists simultaneously in the world as we know it. It's wonderful to be able to introduce audiences to a world that's unique."
Keanu Reeves was named 1992's Most Desirable Male at the MTV Movie Awards.
Musician Anthony Kiedis, who played "Tone," is a member of the rock group The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Vincent Klyn, who played "Warchild," is a champion surfer.
POINT BREAK is the first film from Largo Entertainment, a joint venture of JVC/Entertainment, Inc., and producer Lawrence Gordon. Point Break Reviews: "...[The director] keeps the action percolating in high style....Reeves proves a resourceful actor..."

At Least Keanu Looked Good Surfing, football, bank robbing, sky diving, fighting, chase scenes, one would think this would all add up to an exciting movie. These segments stood up ok individually but the movie as a whole was terrible. Not at any time was there a feeling of suspense or adrenaline rush. The film suffers from poor writing, lack of character development, and lack of logic. The film asked for too much suspended belief on the part of the viewer. And as if everyone involved knew that they had a dud, they filled it with foul language and nudity that did nothing to elevate the movie or make it interesting. A film requires more than two big names in order to succeed. At least Keanu Reeves never looked better and also gave some unintentional comic relief. $12.85 The feature film debut of Hayao Miyazaki (NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, PRINCESS MONONOKE), THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO depicts one adventure of the master thief Lupin and his rough-around-the-edges gunman, Jigen. Something of a cross between Batman, James Bond, and Cary Grant's character in TO CATCH A THIEF, Lupin is a suave ladies' man who is also given to feats of athletic daring, aided by a gadget filled belt that gets him out of more than a few scrapes. The plot has Lupin and Jigen traveling to the sleepy little country of Cagliostro and coming to the aid of the unwilling fiance of the diabolical Count Cagliostro. After CAGLIOSTRO, Miyazaki stopped creating "slapstick" feature films in favor of more serious fare; CAGLIOSTRO shows, however, that he is quite capable of delivering the goods in this genre. Based on the Lupin comics by the artist Monkey Punch, CAGLIOSTRO is a great heist/chase film that surpasses most similar live action fare and breezes by with more than a couple of inventive set pieces, as well ...

$9.69 Patrick Swayze stars in this modern-day Western as a tough guy who has poetic instincts and drives a Mercedes. Fresh from earning his doctorate in Eastern Philosophy from New York University, mettlesome loner Dalton (Swayze) finds work as a bouncer at an anarchic road house. Within weeks, Dalton has rid the bar of the ruffians ruining its business and has even struck up a romance with a sexy doctor (Kelly Lynch). Then Dalton bounces the wrong man, who turns out to be one of town crime boss Brad Wesley's henchmen. Wesley first tries to buy Dalton off, but fails. When Wesley learns of Dalton's new lover -- who used to be Wesley's significant other -- Wesley vows bloody vengeance. But Dalton, with his unique mixture of brute force and Zen oneness, isn't about to let his college money go to waste.
Patrick Swayze stars as Dalton, the best bar bouncer in the business, but he's anything but typical. He's a little small for his trade, has a degree in philosophy and espouses "being nice." When he's hired to clean ...

$52.15 The children's cable network Nickelodeon fashions an American spin on Japanese anime with their original series AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER. On a futuristic Earth torn between the warring elements of Air, Earth, Water, and Fire, only one special being known as the Avatar can bring peace to the conflicted planet. The trouble is, the Avatar is an immature 12-year-old boy called Aang, who would rather wander the world having fun-filled adventures than settle down and face his heroic destiny. Ably blending kids-oriented comedy with martial-arts action/adventure worthy of its Japanese counterparts, the BOOK OF FIRE begins with the invasion of Fire Nation ...
