Purchase City Of Candles CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | R Kelly Untitled CD (2009)
City Of Candles album
$11.18 After his aborted, internet-leaked 2008 album, 12 PLAY: 4TH QUARTER, R. Kelly busied himself with guest spots for Beyonce, T-Pain, and Kanye West, even offering a free download on iTunes, "I Believe," inspired by the election of president Barack Obama. While such moves insured that Kelly would never stray far from the R&B throne he's occupied for ...

City Of Candles music CDs
$8.99 Pink's insistently hooky, attitude-filled pop-rock has kept the singer a fixture on the radio and on singles charts since the early 2000s. The artist's fifth effort, FUNHOUSE, doesn't tamper with the formula: Pink's powerhouse vocals and in-your-face approach, backed by stadium-sized production, ...

| | Joss Stone Colour Me Free! CD (2009) Import
City Of Candles CD music
$30.38 The "free" in the title to Joss Stone's fourth album apparently refers to the neo-singer breaking free from the shackles of her major label, EMI, who apparently have not let Joss be Joss. That this constricting argument happens to be the exact same story line Stone used for 2007's Introducing Joss Stone, the splashy diva power trip meant to unveil the "real" singer, is conveniently forgotten, as is the modern R&B of that makeover, with Joss returning to all the retro-soul of her first two records. The one lingering element of Introducing is a propensity for melisma-laden oversinging, a tic that stands out in the warmer, funkier settings of Colour Me Free! Still, her raw vocal skills remain impressive, as does her taste in soul, and this does beat with a messy human heart. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Master P Good Side/Bad Side CDs (2004)
City Of Candles music CDs
$8.75 In the late 1990s, Percy Miller built a tremendous empire with his No Limit label, featuring a slew of hardcore rap artists, including himself--the incomparable, growl-voiced Master P. No Limit never really went away, but nevertheless Miller decided to revamp it in 2004, and who better to christen the revival than his own alter ego? Christen it Master P does, in a style befitting the brash overstatement of the label known for its instantly recognizable covers featuring tanks and medallions, pastel-colored sleeves, ...
| | Thievery Corporation Cosmic Game CDs (2005) Enhanced CD; Import
City Of Candles songs
$31.29 Washington, DC-based sophisticates Thievery Corporation (producers Rob Garza and Eric Hilton) made several albums of superb down-tempo electronica prior to THE COSMIC GAME, and each release refined the duo's sensuous blend of deep, head-nodding beats, exotic world-music melodies, and lounge-ready atmospherics. This 2005 record builds on the strengths of the Corporation's previous albums, offering more stylish, club-targeted soundscapes to excellent effect. The series of all-star guests that parades through the album raises the Corporation's profile even higher.
The Flaming Lips contribute additional instruments and vocals to the dreamy opener "Marching the Hate Machines (Into the Sun)," while the trip-hop-flavored "Revolution Solution" features Perry ...
| | Reggaeton Platinum Hits CD (2005)
City Of Candles album
$8.49 Of the innumerable reggaeton "hits" compilations flooding the stateside market in 2005, Reggaeton Platinum Hits, Phase 1 is genuine, if not totally sincere in its billing. The thing is, reggaeton had become a hot sound throughout urban America by summer 2005, for sure, but there weren't too many hits, so to speak. Just a buzz, mainly. ...

Yet The Clarke/Duke Project, Vol. 1 was and remains a disappointment, awash in generic urban contemporary material, a few routine instrumentals, and ...
