| | Loreena McKennitt A Mediterranean Odyssey CDs (2009)
Stuck On You CD music
$19.29 Loreena McKennitt's A MEDITERRANEAN ODYSSEY collection includes an 11-track anthology of her more Mediterranean-influenced works entitled OLIVE AND THE CEDAR, as well as a ten-track live performance recorded in 2009 called FROM ISTANBUL TO ATHENS. McKennitt's transition from Celtic balladeer to worldbeat superstar began in the early '90s with the genre-hopping VISIT. Her penchant for Mediterranean/Far East/Middle Eastern instrumentation came to fruition on 1994's MASK AND MIRROR and 1997's BOOK OF SECRETS, the latter of which spawned her biggest commercial hit "The Mummer's ...
| | Pantera Official Live: 101 Proof CD (1997)
Stuck On You music CDs
$7.09 "Cemetery Gates" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
After seven long years of almost non-stop touring, Pantera personally chose these 16 songs as the creme de la creme, the definitive live Pantera experience. All well and good, we can only hope the folks up front had kneepads and mouthpieces, because this is not for the faint of heart. This is incendiary thrash metal; full-speed-ahead sonic mayhem, from the churning grunge of "Becoming" to the jackhammer assault of "Hostile." "New Level," the disc's opener, pretty much defines the experience here; vocals are shouted rather than sung, drums are attacked ...

| | Best Of The Girl Groups Vol. 1 CD (1990)
Stuck On You music CDs
$9.09 Rhino's Best of the Girl Groups, Vol. 1 collects 18 of the greatest girl group singles, including the Ad Libs' "The Boy From New York City," Betty Everett's "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)," the Exciters' "He's Got the Power," and Claudine Clark's "Party Lights." The Shangri-Las have no less than three of their singles -- "Leader of the Pack," "Remember (Walking in the Sand)," and "Give Him a Great Big Kiss" -- included here, while two of the Shirelles' finest, "Baby It's You" and "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," and the Chiffons' "He's So Fine" and "One Fine Day" reaffirm why all three acts are among the best girl groups. Most of the style's big hits, such as the Dixie Cups' "Chapel of Love," are featured, but the lesser-known tracks, like the Jaynetts' "Sally, Go Round the Roses," Evie Sands' "I Can't Let Go," and Skeeter Davis' "I Can't Stay Mad at You," keep the collection interesting for more serious fans of girl ...
| | Lisa Stansfield Face Up CD (2001) Bonus Track; Japan
Stuck On You songs
$33.75 This is the Japanese import editon of Lisa Stansfield's FACE UP including a bonus recording.
Face Up is Lisa Stansfield's first offering for the new millennium, and on this disc she treads similar waters as on previous albums, except for a few more adventurous outings. The album's first single, "Let's Just Call It Love," incorporates the British garage 2step beats introduced to Americans and popularized earlier in 2001 by fellow Brit Craig David, and makes for an unusual but interesting leadoff single. The album's opener, "I've Got Something Better," is classic, funky Lisa Stansfield at her best, and the song gets more and more fun with each repeated listening. Other standouts include the Burt Bacharach-ish show-stopping ballad "How Could You?," the pleading "Don't Leave Now I'm in Love," and the set's most obvious hit, the breezy, disco-laced anthem "8-3-1." The title track is the album's requisite Barry White tribute, and the album's irresistibly funky closer, "All Over Me," is this set's answer to her previous album's "The Line." This disc does have its share of filler, including the Destiny's Child-sounding "Boyfriend," which is quite immature for a sophisticated gal like Lisa, and the silly ditty "Candy." Stansfield's pipes get quite gritty on the ballad "Didn't I," and "Wish on Me" is as sensitive and acoustic as the "Rochdale Queen" gets. Once again, this reliable singer, without straying too far from ...
