The field is getting crowded with reiki-inspired music, but no one composes with the subtlety and intelligence of Terry Oldfield. Gentle synthesizer parts mesh with bansuri flute, hypnotic gongs, wordless vocalizations (from guest artist Soraya Saraswati), and sounds of nature, providing a deeply blissful background for relaxation, reiki, yoga, meditation, or just relaxing.
Personnel: Terry Oldfield (vocals, bansuri, keyboards, percussion).

$14.15 For over a quarter century, Japan's Kitaro has been an internationally recognized icon and globally acclaimed composer and musician. Influenced early on by American rock and R&B, Kitaro began experimenting with synthesizers and a rainbow of unconventional sounds in the mid-'70s. His pioneering fusion of electronic artistry, traditional Japanese forms, and pop-inflected Western idioms created a lush, harmonic, and poetic sound that won the now legendary artist a huge international following. 1980's Volume 1 in the revered Silk Road ...

Reiki Harmony songs
$13.85 Barbara Higbie's VARIATIONS ON A HAPPY ENDING is an uplifting release featuring many touching piano compositions. Higbie's performances are emotive, yet never sappy or maudlin. Moreover, all 11 pieces complement one another. The album flows gently from track to track with great euphony, balance, and musical sensitivity.
Higbie's originals, while clearly New Age, use jazzy syncopations and classical phraseology. The title track is a dynamic work that shows off the pianist's considerable technique. Here, she uses a mixture of rolling arpeggios and sharp chordal punctuations. The ballad "Asleep In My Arms" is more delicate. Higbie again fleshes out the music with sweeping gestures and harp-like arpeggios. "Movie" uses a swinging, almost boogie-woogie, feel. On this selection, the pianist also throws in some well-chosen blue notes. The album closes with "Kora Dreams" a sunny piece that employs a spunky shuffle pattern in the left hand with a sprightly melody in the right. In general, VARIATIONS ON A HAPPY ENDING does much more than soothe; these are well-crafted pieces worthy of active listening.
A longtime Windham Hill recording artist now recording for Slowbaby Records, Barbara is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and championship fiddle player as well as a pianist and composer. She is known for her work as co-founder of the acoustic super-group Montreux, for her two award winning solo vocal recordings, Signs of Life and I Surrender and her two duet releases with singer Teresa Trull, Unexpected and Playtime. In addition, Higbie has played on more than 45 albums, recently recording with Bonnie Raitt on Rosalee Sorrel's ...

Reiki Harmony music CDs
$13.65 It's been nearly two decades since the production team at Orpheus Records -- including label president Beau Huggins and producer Yasha -- helped create the funky sounds that launched now-veterans Najee and Alex Bugnon to early smooth jazz stardom. Now, the label is hoping that lightning strikes again with the discovery of Rob White, a solid R&B, gospel, and funk-influenced saxman who delivers the silky, seductive goods on his label debut. The sax landscape is a bit more crowded these days, but White should have no trouble breaking through with appealing, slickly produced, and powerfully played tracks like the Latin-influenced "Fin de Semana (Weekend)" (featuring wordless backing vocals that just beg the listener to sing along), "High Brow," and the classic, tender Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis-penned ballad "I Wish I Wasn't." White is a nimble, versatile player and proves adaptable to all the tempos Yasha provides for him as a producer and composer -- from the dreamy title track to the joyfully uptempo "Summer Groovin'." Most covers these days are generally done by rote, but White is at his most expressive paying homage to Luther Vandross on a heartfelt rendition of "A House Is Not a Home." Let It Ride plays like the beginning of a great new journey in smooth jazz, but it would be nice as his career develops if White could bring more of his own material and production vibe to the table. ~ Jonathan Widran
~ ROB WHITE ~Millions of musicians play the saxophone but few have the ability to stand out amongst the rest. Rob White began his musical journey at the tender age of 7 with a violin. Brought up in a family of singers, his mother encouraged him to play music and chose the instruments for young Rob to learn. In every instrument that was given to him, from the soprano, alto and tenor sax to the flute, Rob mastered it. Rob always stood out amongst his peers until he attended high school. He knew that he was one of the best but he got tired of trying to prove himself to the band director, so Rob put aside all of his musical instruments and never played again for the high school band. Then one day a good friend and minister asked Rob to play the hymnal, “Blessed Assurance,” during church service. He put up a fight but eventually agreed to play. And like a pure rush, it was like reuniting with his “first love” and Rob hasn’t put down his instruments since that day.Rob eventually moved to Indianapolis and got involved in the jazz scene. It would be at a friends gig that Rob would meet Erica Williams of E2 Square Entertainment “I couldn’t believe the powerful sound that came out of this humble, unassuming artist!” says Erica. That’s why when Rob White got the nod from Erica’s, long time friend Charles Huggins, he knew it was an incredible opportunity. “I am a real smooth jazz artist on Orpheus Music, the company responsible for the debut projects of so many musical artists!” Having a long history of hits, Orpheus ...
