$13.15 Siyathuthuka is Saul Malinga's compositions for his Thuthuka band playing the South African Township dance music called Umbhaqanga which sounds like a calipso music.Siyathuthuka which means "We are progressing",is a township dance album with a strong funk music mood & with very sweet South African harmonies sung by top professional musicians in Jo'burg.Saul recorded singles & albums with South Africa's greatest Mbhaqanga saxophonists like the late Boy Masaka, Kid Margo, Sammy Boy and Bra Sello, toured Southern Africa with them & did many recording sessions with Black Mambazo and the Dark City Sisters,then later joined Abafana Bentuthuko with Izintombi Zes'Manje Manje for many years.All these bands were getting Gold & Platinum discs with Saul playing guitar & writing music for Izintombi Zamangwane his band.In the mid 70's, he joined the cast of "Iphi Ntombi" (a south african musicial) going on a world tour that ended nov 1976 in London, leaving for New York to work with other South African musicians.Moving to Los Angeles in '79, he attended the Sound Master Recording Engineer Schools where he studied Recording Engeneering in North Hollywood working with Caiphus Semenya & Clarence Charles (who has played with the likes of Barry White & Aretha Franklin ) at Lion Share Recording Studios,LA owned by Kenny Rogers & Yamaha Studios,Burbank.In the 90's he returned to SA to work with famous musical playwriter Mbongeni Ngema.Saul is now based in London with his wife and daughter, still working with professional musician in South Africa.
