Recuerdos Del Ayer CD music
$12.65 Sean Wayland was born in 1969 in Sydney, Australia. His was a musical family, his father's love of jazz enabled Sean to hear the music of Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea and others as a young child. His father's mother Muriel Cohen was a concert pianist and the first Australian to perform Olivier Messiaen's Catalogue D'Oiseax publicly. To this day Sean is still entranced by Debussy and Messiaen.Perhaps intimidated by living up to his family's talent, Sean chose to study the violin as a child. His interest in the piano increased and as a teenager he fooled around on the instrument. The fact that he was already an accomplished fiddler and had a busy schedule playing with school orchestras etc meant that he had little time to practise piano. In his final year of high school Sean met jazz pianist John Bostok. At the time in Australia it was difficult to find out about jazz and John hipped Sean to the music of Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and John Coltrane. After school Sean spent a couple of years at University studying Electrical Engineering, but the seed had been sown and he came to realise that his calling in life was to be a musician. Sean studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 1992 and 1993. He has had numerous piano teachers including Mike Nock, Roger Frampton, Judy Bailey, Paul Macnamara in Australia. In New York he has studied with Barry Harris, Kevin Hayes and Bruce Barth. While at the Conservatorium he received the Jack Chrostowski piano award. In 1993 he was a finalist in the National Jazz Piano Awards at the Wangaratta Festival. In 1999 Sean recieved a grant from the Australia Council to study jazz piano in New York which helped him to relocate there.Sean has worked for a a number of internationally renowned musicians including : Madeliene Peyroux, Ingrid Jensen, Cornell Dupree, Jesse Harris, Sheryl Bailey, Gerald Hayes, Dale Barlow, Justine Clark, Jackie Orsascky, Steve Hunter, James Muller and Steve Mckenna.Sean has also had the fortunate experiences of playing with many of the world's best jazz musicians such as Norah Jones, Ali Jackson, Adam Rogers, Seamus Blake, Chris Potter, Rodney Green, Jesse Murphy, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Adam Nussbaum, Dennis Irwin, Alvester Garnett, Steve Kirby etc As well as recording his own CDs he has appeared on numerous other jazz releases including albums by Tim Hopkins, Banana, John Mackie and Nick McBride and Luca Benedetti. Sean has successfully toured ...

Recuerdos Del Ayer music CDs
$17.69 June 2009; Capsicum Records LLC debuts with "Reggae-in-Fusion Album #1":Capsicum Records LLC, a new independent, internet-driven recorded music company, announced its inaugural release, Reggae-In-Fusion Album #1, a compilation album featuring original songs performed by label principal Sal Anthony and six talented Hartford-based artists, “Sledge” (Courtney Whyte), Bernard “Burnie T” Terrell, Jr, Ardiwa “Cuban Cohiba” Wallace, Camille “Misteree” Tomlinson-Ismail, Mayyah Stuart and Natasha Redding. The creative principals of Capsicum include Roger Meltzer, label CEO/A&R Director and songwriter-producer-arranger; Osborne "Ifield" Joseph, Executive Producer, studio engineer, musician/songwriter/arranger, and Music Director of label concerts, and Sal Anthony, artist-songwriter, musician-producer-arranger and Promotion and Marketing VP. “At Capsicum, it’s about the song, and then matching each song to a promising artist.” says Meltzer. “We believe that by writing “hooky,” melodic songs with something to say, putting infectious, “rootsy,” reggae grooves under them, and then coloring them with the traditional (“old school”) feel, instruments, musical licks and vocal flavors of other genres, our records will appeal to the crossover fan-base of those markets as well as to reggae lovers. Our audience and market will therefore span a very wide global demographic, from students to baby boomers, multiple ethnic groups and music preferences.” Meltzer was recently interviewed by a number of Hartford radio deejays in conjunction with the release of the CD. Meltzer has been the guest of BUSY 103.3-FM (www.busyradio.com) deejays Andrew Matrix, Black Ice, Sasha and Lady J, all of whom regularly play different songs from the album. "I'm always asked when our CDs will be in stores, and I explain we are going strictly digital with downloads from our website, www.capsicumrecords.com." says Meltzer. "You can listen to all our songs and download the entire album or just the singles you like. Also, there is always one featured song you can download for free, and since we change the featured song every few weeks, you can get them all for free if you check out the website regularly. The website also has bios for each of our artists, how the songs ...
