| | XBox 360 Darkness (5 Customer Reviews)
On the eve of his 21st birthday, fearless mafia hitman Jackie Estacado is suddenly possessed by the terrifying and spectacular powers of The Darkness. Though his supernatural entity lets him wreak terrible havoc on his enemies, the Darkness also has a strong will of its own and now Jackie must learn how to control it. Gameplay features include a seamless and unique blend of modern crime drama and supernatural horror with both first and third person non-linear progression, ad well as highly destructible environments that enable players to stalk the gritty New York slums, harbors, subway tunnels and rooftops, then defeat the terrifying creatures of The Otherworld-a parallel reality where the Darkness dwells. Darkness Games Review Average Rating: (3.6 out of 5 stars) Great story & gameplay but too short Darkness has a great story although quite depressing. It's also very short, can be completed in 8-10 hours, maybe 12 hours if you do the side quests as well. It's somewhat remeniscent of the movie "The Crow". There's one scene where you can actually watch two full movies on a tv, one of them I beleive was "To Kill a Mockingbird".
Graphically the game looks stunning and the gameplay overall is pretty good. You'll come to find out that the conventional weapons are fairly worthless except for blowing out lights and found myself using "Creeping Darkness" power a lot more than the weapons. The Darklings are fairly useless as well except for the one Darkling that runs around and blows out the lights for you.
The Darkness powers are pretty wicked and the last one you get is could almost be considered cheap or cheating even.
From what I have experienced in the Multiplayer option, it's extremely laggy and not very exciting. Gears of War multiplayer is much, much better.
Overall it's a great game and if you enjoyed Chronicles of Riddick you should enjoy Darkness. Submitted by alexeianderson (Belmont, Ca) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Darkness Review Good graphics, great story line. In-game controls are virtually seemless. Everything flows together well. Submitted by bconrad56 (Omaha, NE, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

like playing a movie the biggest knock on this game is its length, however short as it may, the story trumps 90% of hollywood movies these days. definately not for children, but a well-crafted, adult-oriented drama, very much like "the crow". gameplay takes little time to get the hang of. graphically as realistic as a game can get, and the voice acting is first rate. i'm unfamiliar with the multi-player and probably will never play it as i've heard the developers just through it in for fun. if you want a gaming experience that will emotionally draw you in, a completely realistic interactive first-person shooter, i highly recommend this game. Darkness cheats
$20.05 Electronic Arts' COMMAND & CONQUER series has been one of the most popular real-time strategy games in existence, and now players can check out twelve of the games on one CD with the COMMAND & CONQUER THE FIRST DECADE collection. The games are interesting combinations of science-fiction storylines and history. In COMMAND & CONQUER: RED ALERT, for example, players find themselves in an alternate history where the allied forces are battling Stalin and a powerful Russia instead of Germany because, after inventing a time machine, Einstein killed Hitler. It's interesting storylines like this that make the series so much more than the typical RTS game. Twelve different COMMAND & CONQUER games are included in THE FIRST DECADE package, including the original game, RED ALERT, TIBERIAN SUN, RENEGADE (a first-person shooter set in the C&C universe), RED ALERT 2, YURI'S REVENGE, C&C GENERALS, ZERO HOUR, and more. All have been updated to run on Windows XP. All of the games take different approaches and are often set in different worlds, although some are direct sequels. However, the well-written storylines and addictive gameplay remain the same through each game, with each successive game tweaking the mechanics a bit. Players will find the first C&C game does play a bit differently than the more recent ones, but the controls aren't so outdated as to make the game no longer fun. Fans of the COMMAND ...
