Don't Get Comfortable was, contrary to its title, one of the smoothest, easiest-to-go-down helpings of smart, contemporary Christian pop to surface in 2006. The album was a strong showing for Brandon Heath, who signed to the heavyweight Reunion Records roster (home to Casting Crowns and Michael W. Smith, among others). The native Nashville singer exhibited a host of skills honed after years of collaborating within the CCM songwriting community. Heath rose from the songwriting ranks to become a fully developed artist, eventually partnering with Bebo Norman, Matt Wertz (who happened to be his roommate at the time), Dave Barnes, Chad Cates, Philip LaRue and Ben Glover. His former aspirations to be behind the music eventually took him behind the mic, where his flavor for storytelling connected with audiences almost immediately. "I'm Not Who I Was" became an instantly recognizable anthem for forgiveness, and "Our God Reigns" received a Dove nomination for best worship song. The album had few inconsistencies, and the quality of Heath's songwriting was of the highest caliber. Don't Get Comfortable was a bright spot for those who sought insightful stories that resonate within one's soul. ~ Jared Johnson

Don't Get Comfortable Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Brandon Heath, a new favorite I bought this CD only after hearing him in concert. His voice was not only phenomenal on stage but, also almost as phenomenal on CD! This is the best CD I have ever listened to and hope to follow him through a stunning career. SUPERB I LOVE THIS CD!
This CD is wonderful, especially if you're a person that enjoys Christian music, but doesn't want a direct coorelation to God in every song. Brandon's got an amazing voice both on the CD and Live and if you can get a chance to see him, GO!!!

Don't Get Comfortable
$10.15 John Waller had three things going for him when The Blessing debuted nationally: he had already fronted the critically touted band According to John; he signed with coveted Beach Street Records, home of mega-successful group Casting Crowns; and the Christian AC landscape had become so barren that it was in dire need of a fresh talent to revive the genre. Waller was up for the task, bringing just the right balance of heart-opening lyrics ...

Don't Get Comfortable
$10.75 Once in a while a musician comes along with impeccable technique, deep understanding of the jazz repertoire, an innate tendency to swing and the rare ability to communicate the heart and soul of a tune to listeners. That musician is Beegie Adair.About her music Adair says, âFalling in love with jazz is like falling in love with a person, except with jazz you never get over it.â About Beegie (say B-G) Adair, what do others say?Jazz great Helen Merrill salutes her âinventive jazz sense, her wonderful sense of time and improvised melody.âChristopher Louden of Jazz Times magazine says Adair is âan ...

Don't Get Comfortable
$9.85 At first glance, the Exploding Hearts seem like mere revivalists. From the pink and yellow cover to their 1977 looks to their influences, it would be easy to dismiss them. But you need to hold the phone a minute and listen, because the Exploding Hearts are the best punk band to come along in a long time, maybe since the original wave. About those influences, here is a partial list: the early Clash if Mick Jones wrote all the songs and the Only Ones or Buzzcocks at their emotional best, but also classic power pop sounds like a (much) tougher Rubinoos, rock & roll like a tighter and sober New York Dolls, and the lo-fi approach of Billy Childish. ...

It's a favourite." (Vesa, Ontario, Canada)"Love is Blind - This song came straight out of the gate with a funky riff. This is a funky tune where the bass player is straight gettin funky. The lyrics and vocals are excellent. It's a groove that sounds like it's out of the 70's with a 90's feel if that's possible. Let's try this.."A modern song with an excellent 70's-like groove" Instruments were blazin and the guitar solo was a definite "ON HIT". WOULD DEFINITELY PAY TO SEE THESE GUYS LIVE!!!Mountain Of Fools - Damn These guys are jammin. They have a groove that is undeniably DA BOMB!! (Another for the ***HOT LIST***) I'm truly diggin on that bassist..he is in A ZONE The vocals are tight too....this is a great tune. I also checked out their live stuff on their page..they are a far cry from "STUDIO"..these guys are FOR REAL!!OH SHIT..I have to take a quick pause cause I'm definitely rockin to this cut..it even has hints of the old "George Clinton" or groups of that era. gonna listen again. Also adding these guys to my favorites..Man they are definitely kickin. The further you go into the song..the TIGHTER it gets!!! Nice break downs, Nice bkg vox at the end..this song has it all. I'm truly truly impressed." (P.Blake)"A round and fine thing the boys of Aquarian Age delivered here. The Funk/Jazz band from Upper Austria for sure got something cooking and there is rumor that some people in California are running around on the beach with their mp3s (for more info visit their homepage). But lets come to the point and talk about the CD:It begins with âLove is Blindâ which enchants with a cool text (âI thought religious prudish moral code is completely out of date´) and an easygoing groove, generating a cool and airy attitude to life. The song âMountain of Foolsâ is more or less a reckoning with the blindness of the world, text and music going together very well.âWith my eyesâ is a first-rate song for cuddling and âDown to the Topâ is a top-quality catchy tune. Especially the bass is bad ass without end. Cool thing and then there´s the extremely catchy refrain. As closure for this ride âSweet Love Of Mineâ ...
