| | Shareefa Point Of No Return CD Shareefa Discography of CDs
Urban contemporary diva Shareefa built her name as a member of Ludacris's Disturbing the Peace collective to which she lent her alternately gutsy and floating vocals to DTP's second compilation. The singer's full-length solo debut, POINT OF NO RETURN, out on Ludacris's Def Jam-affiliated DTP label, makes good on the buzz surrounding the young singer by offering up a full course of slow jams, soulful mid-tempo numbers, and thumping club bangers. Comparisons to Mary J. Blige are inevitable, but if Shareefa's singing isn't yet developed enough to give Blige a run for her money, the impressive neo-soul performances on POINT OF NO RETURN suggest she's very much in the race.

Point Of No Return album
$12.79 "Whenever Whenever Whenever" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
For a brief moment in the mid-90s, Maxwell was his generation's Marvin Gaye. This live set, probably his finest moment on wax, features the bonus track "'Til The Cops Come Knockin'," as well as "The Lady Suite," "Gotta Get Closer," and five more.
Riding the wave of young turks delving into old-school soul that includes D'Angelo, Eryka Badu and Adriana Evans, Maxwell's URBAN HANG SUITE heralded the arrival of a balladeer who combined Al Green's seductiveness with Prince's sensuality. MTV UNPLUGGED shows off the live side of this young free spirit whose musical roots reach through the Quiet Storm into some pretty unlikely places. Throughout this EP, the arrangements are lush, the horns caress every groove and Maxwell's creamy falsetto ducks and feints through his own "Whenever Wherever Whatever" and "The Lady Suite." He also takes time to give props to Kate Bush with a crystalline reading of "This Woman's Work." Showing off a knack for the unorthodox, Maxwell closes out the festivities with a completely transformed cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" that moves from a jazz/funk workout to a gospel feel.

Point Of No Return CD music
$14.59 Released in conjunction with the similarly packaged Ghetto Dictionary: The Mystery, Ghetto Dictionary: The Art of War is a 20-track compilation of Bounty Killer tracks organized around a single theme: his supremacy over other DJs. The practice of DJ battling is a long-standing and venerable one in the dancehall reggae world, and Bounty Killer is one of its most respected practitioners. But as impressive as his lyrical flow and powerful delivery are, he is hobbled on this collection by the sameness of the rhythms provided him by a shifting array ...

Reuniting with fellow West Coast rappers WC and Mack 10, Cube leads the Connection on tunes that pull topics from the headlines, such as the title track and "Call 9-1-1," where lyrics remind listeners that "911 ...

Point Of No Return CD music
$8.35 The Jacaranda tree makes a dramatic statement when it's in full bloom, with its clusters of decidedly PURPLE flowers. Is this REALLY a true color of nature .. or just my imagination painting a wild vision of spectacular beauty in action? And them... it moves ever so gently with the breeze... those GIGANTIC PURPLE blossoms literally dancing with each other! It is truly a vision to behold. And so... the intricate passion and complexity of the color purple is best defined in these choice, enthusiastic compositions by JOHN SHIPLEY. Actually, John is best described in those same terms, As a believer in Truth Principles and a graduate of 'the school of hard knocks' ( along with tangible, accredited establishments), he feels the need to speak up now and say, 'This is what the Jacaranda tree dances to!' The delicacy of its petals and enormity of the whole blossom become quite apparent as you listen to 'dance of the jacaranda tree'. The wild winds and the desolation of the desert are prevalent, especially in 'The Elephant Graveyard' and 'Hot Desert Nights'.John's diligent piano practicing (especially on school lunch hours), set the pace for his decisive desire to play a variety of music styles. His career as a musician has been intense and stimulating, allowing him to grow wildly in several ...
