Lucas Black and Bow Wow star. Extras include deleted scenes, drifting school, tricked out to drift, and more high-octane features. The third in the wildly popular FAST IN THE FURIOUS series--a hybrid of fast cars, hot teens, and fetishized technology--gets a new jolt of energy and style courtesy of young hotshot director Justin Lin, who won raves at Sundance in 2002 for his look at Asian-American teens in BETTER LUCK TOMORROW. Leading man in training Lucas Black stars as sensitive rebel Sean Boswell, who, despite hailing from the poor section of town, vamps up his used car to drag race against the best of them. After numerous racing challenges won--including one against his high school's popular, wealthy quarterback--Boswell gets in trouble with the law one too many times. To escape confinement to a juvenile detention center, Boswell's military father ships him all the way across the world, to that most futuristic, tech-savvy of cities, Tokyo. There, he meets his match in the powerful, cruel D.K. (Brian Tee), who is not only the car racing star of the Japanese underground, but also related to several dangerous Yakuzas (gangsters). Complicating matters is Sean's undeniable (and mutual) attraction to D.K.'s gorgeous girlfriend Neela (Nathalie Kelly). The racing style, he soon learns, is very different in this strange land--a practice known as "drifting" that is more elegant and virtuostic than American-style demolition. Yet if anyone can take on D.K. and his band of Yakuza yeomen, it's this racecar rebel. All the pieces of the action movie puzzle, including sexy stars, nonstop action, and heart-stopping thrills, combine with a stylish aesthetic and energetic soundtrack to make another fine addition to a fantastic franchise. And director Lin is adept at rendering Tokyo a full-dimensional, culturally rich location, rather than a video game backdrop. Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift Video Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift Movie Review Average Rating: (3.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Bad Even by "Fast and Furious" Standards Now, I am not just going to poo-poo the whole "Fast and Furious" franchise as I did enjoy the first one (despite the annoying presence of Paul Walker). This latest installment, however, is just unbearable. It starts off in a high school parking lot where Lucas Black races Zachery Ty Bryan (who has got to be 37 by now). When deciding what the stakes of the race are going to be, the football captain's (Bryan) girlfriend offers herself up to the winner. How freakin' ridiculous. The rest of the movie is just as incomprehensible. I could not even begin to feel anything but disdain for these (day time) street-racing teens as they routinely destroy property with no regard and race through pedestrian-laced areas with no regard. I know I sound like Mr. Rogers here but I cannot feel sympathy for the main character's plight when he offers no sympathy to anyone or anything. The drift racing scenes are nothing special as far as today's standards are concerned and the story is plain lame, even though in involves the Yakuza. Some of the Asian actors are easy on the eyes but that is about the only good I can say for this sad, silly, little movie. Submitted by keepcool_mybabies (Sacramento, CA) Was This Review Helpful? NEED FOR SPEED!!!!!!! WAS VERY CURIOUS AND EXPECTING A GOOD SEQUEL AFTER READING THE PLOT STORYLINE...WASNT DISSAPOINTED AT ALL. GREAT CALL BRINGING IN A NEW GUY (LUCAS BLACK) FOR THE LEAD ROLE...SHOWING THAT VIN & PAUL AINT THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN BE GREAT. BUT U GOTTA LOVE THE VIN DIESEL CONNECTION WITH ONE OF THE LEAD CHARACTERS PROVING THAT THE NEXT SEQUEL WILL BE VERY,VERY INTERESTING. GREAT MOVIE 5 STARS***** Submitted by WILLIAM.RILEY (DALLAS,TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
GREAT MOVIE 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS WAS MY FRONT RUNNER AS THE BEST AND WOULD HAVE BEEN THIS TIME UNTIL THEY ADDED VIN DEISEL IN AT THE LAST. THAT 3 MINUTE SCENE BETWEEN HIM AND THE KID AT THE LAST WAS WHAT MADE THIS MOVIE GREAT BESIDES THE AWESOME STUNTS THEY DID IN THIS MOVIE AND I THINK WILL DEFINITELY KEEP THIS MOVIE FRANCHISE ALIVE FOR AT LEAST 1 OR 2 MORE SEQUELS. WOULDN'T IT BE COOL IF VIN,PAUL W. AND "THE KID" WOULD COME BACK FOR THE NEXT SEQUEL???? THIS MOVIE IS TOO COOL. CHECK IT OUT. Submitted by MICHAELCBAREFOOT (FOUR OAKS, N.C.,U.S.A.) Better than I expected I liked the first one,I did'nt care for the second one,but the third one might be the best one.It seems to have more action than the first two,but at times it feels like watching a videogame. The cast is pretty amusing to watch even without Vin Diesel.Lucas Black does a good job in the lead role.Nathalie Kelley is hot in her role as the bad girl.Bow Wow's performance is a joke and his acting skills need a little tune-up.The major flaw that this movie has is it's story. The movie gets off to a good starting point, but it quickly becomes too unimaginable. While I was watching it there were times when I said to myself,"yeah right."Bottom line:some people might hate it because it's like watching a cheap videogame, but some people might love it for the action and the really cool cars. $10.85 As the third installment of the X-Men series opens, the world has entered a relatively peaceful period for mutants. There's a mutant-tolerant president of the United States, a blue furry mutant named Beast (Kelsey Grammer) heading up the Department of Mutant Affairs, and Magneto's shape-shifting femme fatale, Mystique, has been captured. The tranquility is shattered by two events. Worthington Laboratories, using a powerful mutant boy, develops a serum that eliminates the "mutant X gene" permanently. This so-called "cure" quickly divides the mutant community; Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and his school are willing to give the government the benefit of the doubt, but Magneto (Ian McKellen) and his mutant Brotherhood see the serum as a vile threat to their way of life. They form an army of mutants and march on the fortified Worthington Laboratory located on Alcatraz ...
