DaphneTim Mercer: lead vocals, guitarScott Garapolo: drums, percussion, vocalsRyan Bull: lead guitarJon Cornell: bassThe self-titled debut album from the playful foursome Daphne mixes elements of rock, grunge and punk. The New York City based band originally formed as a quartet in 1999, spent a short stint as a trio before it’s final incarnation as a power quartet. Daphne lists Guns N’ Roses, Janes Addiction, The Who and Jimi Hendrix as major influences on their music. It’s their love of music that drives the band. The band finds inspiration for their music in many areas. Their songs touch on themes of life, love, and relationships. How they found one another…It was an ad that Tim placed in the Village Voice that led him to Scott. Jon who moved from Vegas to NYC in 2003, met Scott at a show and soon joined the band. Jon described his latest band to an old friend from Chicago, Ryan, who then moved to New York City to be part of the Daphne experience. The origin of the band’s name comes from Daphne, the attractive and clever detective from the Scooby Doo series. While Daphne enjoyed their time in a Long Island studio recording this album (and their extracurricular activities of golf and wiffle ball during breaks), it’s playing live that really excites them. Infectious is one word to describe the Daphne live experience. The band creates and cultivates a connection with the audience that they use to produce an unmistakable energy and excitement. During the show, they bring the audience on a wild rollercoaster of emotions from the up-tempo hard rock song “Sin” to the harmonizing soft song “Astoria” and back to rocking us with “Crush”New Yorkers may already know Daphne from when they won K Rock’s BATTLE OF THE BANDS in 1999. They beat out over 500 other bands for the honor. They’ve also been chosen as a Budweiser True Music Band, which has garnered them airplay, as well as numerous ad spots on the radio. Since then their song “Crush” has received airplay on K Rock as well as Q104.3. Their music has also been featured on FOX TV’s THE FAMILY GUY.Tim is a self-taught musician, who after his 16th birthday realized he wouldn’t be the next Mickey Mantle, and focused his energy on writing music. Scott gave up his calling as a vet and found his passion in playing drums when he was nine years old. As early as he can remember, Ryan wanted to follow in the footsteps of Jimi Hendrix. Jon would listen to Paul McCartney play bass and dream of the day he could play bass for a living. The band is in complete agreement when it comes to the power of music. Tim, who wrote all the lyrics on the album, says “I believe music can be so important on many levels. The most important aspect in my mind is that it can alter your mood. It can cheer you up, make you reflect or represent a time in your life.” We all need that escape.2/06 Daphne Songs | 1. | Crush |

Daphne CD music
$14.30 Rush is no stranger to best-of compilation albums, they've released a slew of them. They are also no stranger to DVDs. To mark their 35th anniversary, they've released Working Men, which is both; it marks their first best-of live compilation exclusively from the DVD sets Rush in Rio (2003), R30 (2005), and Snakes & Arrows Live (2008). There is also an unreleased cut from R30 -- a killer version of One Little Victory. While fans may simply regard this as a record company cash grab, hardcore fans know how closely Rush monitors each release and controls all aspects of their career. On hearing these tracks without benefit of the visuals, it becomes lucidly clear that in the 21st century, Rush plays more like a hungry act looking to prove themselves rather than as seasoned veterans jaded by the entire business. The instrumental interaction between Neal Peart, Alex Lifeson, and Geddy Lee is utterly uncanny, the anticipation and the willingness to add flourishes and to challenge one another in the bridges and solo sections reveal their command of the material and their empathies for one another's playing strengths. One of ...
| | Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention Roxy & Elsewhere CD (1974) Remastered
Daphne music CDs
$7.25 Pricipally recorded live at The Roxy, Hollywood, California from December 10-12, 1973; the Auditorium Theater, Chicago, Illinois in 1974; Edinboro State College, Edinboro, Pennsylvania on May 8, 1974.
It's no secret that one of the most powerful weapons in Zappa's arsenal was his sense of humor, which was at its height in live performance. Consequently, there's no better way to get a feel for the full scope of Zappa's music than on the live ROXY & ELSEWHERE. This set finds Frank at his mid-'70s peak, working with Ruth Underwood, Don Preston, George Duke, etc. While all the tunes are technically impeccable (often featuring trademark feats of counter-intuitive derring-do), it's Zappa's humorous interaction with ...

| | Megadeth Endgame CD (2009)
Daphne album
$15.65 The release of 2009's ENDGAME brings with it a startling realization: if first-generation thrash metal fans had been polled about which of the genre's "Big Four" -- Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth -- would prove to be the most resilient and consistently prolific over the next quarter century, the only sure-fire consensus would probably have been "well, anyone but Megadeth!" And yet, 12 studio albums and 150-plus songs later -- more than any of the other three have managed -- that's exactly what's come to pass. The group's second release for Roadrunner, whose title ...
| | Avalanch Mother Earth CD (2005)
Daphne CD music
$11.35 Avalanch is on the spotlight again with their newest releases: the DVD Cien Veces and the CD Mother Earth (English version of Los poetas han muerto) which add up to the success of Las ruinas del Edén, released in September 2004. The band is touring Spain heavily and after almost 40 dates, the last leg of the tour will take them for a month to Latin America. Cien Veces, Avalanch's much anticipated and frankly superb first DVD, shows every aspect of the band that their fans are longing to see up close. It includes the recording of San Mateo 2003 concert in Oviedo, taped with an absolutely striking quality, as well as two wonderful features: one documentary about the Latin Tour, the other, on the Spanish tours and studio work, plus some extrass (a brief unplugged concert, and Lucero's videoclip). More than 150 minutes to enjoy Avalanch at your own home. Mother Earth features English versions of the ten songs from Los Poetas Han Muerto plus the dazzling cover of Where the Streets Have No Name (U2). Avalanch has performing this song live and now it's getting radio airplay in Spain. Mother Earth's sound has come out much more powerful than its Spanish counterpart thanks to the new mixes., which highlight details which were hidden in the original version. The sound remarkably benefits from Marco's exceptional work on the ...

| | Bohagey Bowes Tourist On The Run CD (2006)
Daphne album
$14.79 Born from the ashes of the seminal New England 60s band The Tikis, from the cinder pit of the late 80s reggae band Man on the Street, from the crash and burn of Success EÂŁpress, the comet-like existence of Earth From Above, and the constant hunger of The MAOInhibitors, BOHAGEY BOWES bursts into life with Tourist on the Run, a nine-song saga about one man's stumble along the roadways and into the airports, cheap hotels, and tourist traps that litter the galaxies of a private imagination. BOHAGEY BOWES is a disparate group of musicians influenced by everything from the blues and The Beatles to Bowie and Byrne to the beatbox. Accomplished on their own, some of the group have actually never met. Thanks, however, to digital technology, they seem to play very well together. Driven by keyboards, guitars, loops and voices, and layered with the occasional saxophone or harmonica, BOHAGEY BOWES blends both the old and the new to create a sound that's at once familiar yet ...

Daphne music CDs
$12.69 Once upon a time there was a little girl with big dreams and a broken heart... Born and raised in rural Tennessee, my family were all quite musically gifted, though none had ever sought fame and fortune. My beloved father, Jim McGrath, was a football coach, teacher, and basically a natural at anything he pursued. A proverbial light in the room and a fabulous singer, it was his passion for people and what he believed in that served as my biggest influence. His untimely passing when I was eleven marked the beginning of a series of family tragedies that challenged me throughout my teenage years. Luckily, though, I always had a very strong spirit which filled me with inspiration, allowing me to overcome my trials through writing, singing and acting. Already weathered by being on my own at the age of 17and desperate for direction, I auditioned and was accepted to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. But unfortunately, my financial restraints didn’t allow me to attend. So I put myself through a local Christian University, where I found strength, love and a new outlook on life. Ready to get out and see the world, I graduated in just three years with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting Communications. During my second ...
