After years in the scene, JEMO has become a complete and awesome live experience, fueled by the artistic talents, passions, and joys of Toronto musicians Jeff Dantowitz, James Bastable, and Micheal Beauclerc.Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jeff Dantowitz incorporated his poems and experiments into the seven songs on the first JEMO album, released in 2001. It is currently in rotation on several radio stations in North America, and reached "heavy rotation" on two US college radio stations: WRSU in New Jersey, and WUEV in Indiana. After interviews and frequent play on CIUT and CJAM, JEMO's first release earned respect as a consummate piece of indie experimentation.Over the course of five years, playing intense and awesome live shows at legendary Toronto venues like Sneaky Dee's, Holy Joe's, and the Free Times Cafe, or on the streets of Ottawa's WestFest, the JEMO reputation for passionate live shows became evermore exceeding. LABEL RECORDS recognized the talent and potential, and stepped into the picture in 2005. JEMO is now proud to work with the Canadian label to produce as much beautiful sound and meaningful music as possible. After releasing "The Six-Fingered Salmagundi" in 2005, a live album recorded at Toronto's Renaissance Cafe, Jeff Dantowitz went into the studio with bassist James Bastable (formerly The Daybreak/October) and Yamaha-sponsored drummer Michael Beauclerc. The result is "Oaks With Rushes"... JEMO's most pleasing and accessible album to date.In July 2006, JEMO toured Eastern Canada to support this new blend of exotic sounds and infectious rhythms. The album is already receiving comparisons to the pitch of Radiohead, Ben Harper, The Dave Matthews Band, David Gray, Jeff Buckley. In the past year, JEMO has taken their energy and music to some of Toronto's biggest stages: the Lula Lounge and Lee's Palace. What is JEMO? JEMO is a mesmerizing blend of musical poetry, an aggressive acoustic alternative... Idolizing the glorious careers of bands like U2 and Pink Floyd, JEMO approaches the alternative rock genre with healthy abandon: pushing and pulling the boundaries of expression. Sincere, meaningful, groovy music: one true song after another.Quotes about JEMO:"Jemo is able to maintain the listener's attention through sheer emotion and lyrics that are simultaneously personal and universal... Whether soft finger-picking as in 'Hamsterboy' or rendering ballads through a sleepy legato haze, as in 'Antiseptic,' Jemo's distinct melodies are reflected in both his dexterous guitar playing and his animated singing, a rare feat unless you're the late great Jeff Buckley or David Gray... A commercial breakthrough is only a major chord away. Stay tuned to Jemo."Tom SemioliMinor 7th Magazine (USA)"Jemo is full of very deep truths and emotions which can be delved into only after you get past the power of the music... The first time I saw jemo perform I cried, astonished by the intense emotion of his music."Sara JaneDrown Soda Magazine (Canada)"I loved the first jemo album a lot, especially the juxtaposition between singer-songwriter and noise/electronic elements... Great dynamics."Tony DaleCamera Obscura Records (Australia)"Jemo is unbelievable... mind-blowing."Dan TaitThe Euphoria (Canada)"The music is dark and very emotional - perfect for any crowd."Tara SalesSeahorse Music Inc. The smiling fish (a trout?) on the cover of Infinity captures the mood of Trout Fishing in America. The fish doesn't seem aware that five more fish are directly behind him, ready to make him part of the food chain. This is fun music for kids and adults. Who could resist singing along to "Junk Food Jump," a catchy tune that glorifies "Ice cream, potato chips, pie, and a coconut cake/Cotton candy, bubble gum, and a big strawberry shake"? Lou and Peter Berryman's "It's Better Than That" informs kids that being an adult is really -- so much more fun than they could imagine. "We have a chocolate ...
| | Marz Against All Odds CD (2005)
Oaks With Rushes songs
$14.79 "Against All Odds" is not just the name of Marz's new album, but an accurate description of his life leading up to its release. Growing up in the utter poverty of rural Croatia with dirt floors, no gas, electricity, or plumbing was only the beginning of the many adversities Marz has been forced to overcome. While struggling to survive in conditions that make the Chicago ghettos look like Beverly Hills, he also struggled with a drunk and abusive father. "My pops has done so many crazy things, it's hard to know where to start. For example, one day he came home drunk and shot three holes through our front door while we were all sleeping in the house. Another time, he came home drunk with my uncle and started shooting my mom's angel statues in the living room. He also hid a gun in my waist-line when I was six or seven because my mom and uncle searched him before we went out to a carnival."Much of Marz's childhood experience still affects him strongly today. None perhaps more than a nearly fatal auto accident, leading to an out-of-body experience that happened when he ...

| | Aep First Acoustic Free Rock Relationship CD (2007)
Oaks With Rushes album
$6.69 AEP: Comments On My First Solo Album Free rock is the term I like to use to describe the music genre of my very first solo album. After ten years and two cd:s in Humboogie, I decided to release an album for which I did all the compositions, recording, playing, mixdown and cover design. Free rock mostly takes its influence on the area of rock that I have found most fruitful: the years 1968-1975. Of course, a musically experienced listener will find hints of, for example, the early 1980’s here and there, not to mention some guitar styles of classical music arranged for acoustic guitar (I have played classical guitar for over 20 years, too). ...
