BiographyBorn in brooklyn, NY into a young forward thinking black family. Ekundayo was given his name at birth, by his mother. It means "Sorrow Becomes Happiness". As a youngster Ekundayo was heavily influenced by the culture of the west indies(reggae,soca music,carribean food) and africa(dance and drumming). He attended Weuse Shule in the flatbush area of brooklyn, a private school with an african centered cirriculum. Here he learned about his history, the journey, the hardships and ultimately the beauty of his people. He performed at talent shows and programs put on by the school annualy at Mahalia jackson highschool. Ekundayo and his two brothers learned to play african drums as a result of their mother being a dancer. They continued to play and perform well into their teenage years.
