BioAt the age of ten, my dad handed me my first guitar. It was an old Gibson 6 string flattop with rivets in the back to hold the neck on. I took to it right away and wanted more. By the time my freshman high school year came around, I was well on my way. I started a band called Silent Rage and had my first real guitar, an Ibanez Roadster. We performed at school dances, street dances, parades and a few bars. After high school,I joined the Air Force and had lost touch with the music. In 1985, I teamed up with a drummer, Ron Roth, who was also stationed at Minot Air Force base in North Dakota. Our jointly formed band was called OZENROTH and we played a few gigs here and there, one of which we opened for Nixen Pupils as their second of three groups. I felt that this was not the direction I wanted to go because I was still performing cover tunes. I,again, had a break from music till 1992 when I met a guitarist/ keyboard player named Eric Olson. We quickly became friends and had very similar tastes in music. A couple of years or so later, we formed a band called Darkwolf with Thayne Wickam on bass and Dave Perrault on percussion. During my time spent with Darkwolf, I finally began writing my music. After performing for awhile, we all parted ways. In the late 1990s, I picked up my Ibanez Joe Satriani 600 series guitar and just started messing around and wrote the rhythm track for “In The Beginning”. Soon I was creating tunes to follow. I was coming up with titles of songs I hadn’t even written the music for yet and new that I was creating an epic tale through moods of music. I hit a major setback in 2001 when my computer crashed and I lost all my work. It took more than a year before I wanted to record again. Then,on a boring afternoon during a thunderstorm,I picked up the guitar and within a half hour I had written “Nullified” and “Storm Warning”. I soon met with another setback. I had the drive to work on the CD again but my job was not allowing me the time I needed to record. I made some career changes that allowed me more time to focus on the music and to finish “Monument to Nothing”.Equipment used:Guitars: Ibanez JS600, Charvel, Kramer Striker FR424, Kramer Striker FR 422, Yamaha 12 String AcousticBass: Ibanez SG200Tascam Portastudio 424MK II, Pod Line 6, Zoom 505, Yamaha RX15 Digital Rhythm Programmer, Cakewalk Guitar Tracks 2, Cakewalk Home Studio 2002, DDDrummerMonument to Nothing is an epic tale of the creation and destruction of a world all done with the sequential mood changes in Rock music. The emotional drive of the bass and drums to the melodic and complexed multi-lead guitars truly pull you into to this world and take you on an incredible journey.

During the course of their storied history many have pondered the origins of HCF. Most agree, that the McKnight and Macintyre partnership under the guise 'The Name Droppers' is where the band truly originated. Several Incarnations of the band would follow, including the Flat-chested Fatties, Pope Mobile, Santa's Knee, Professor One-eye and the Garbage Bag Raincoat and the Rubberneckers. Critics and fans will agree however that it was McKnight's and Macintyre's collaborations with Professor One-eye himself, Dave Chester Burns (ex-guitarist of International Hobo) that proved to be the most memorable. Circa 1985 also saw the rise of a Brazilian speed funk band called Crucified Fruit Salad. Interestingly enough, the founder of this youth orchestra was none other than Shock Uzi Wallyworld Warlord. Sadly after the triangle player overdosed on mangoes, most of the band threw in the towel leaving UZI all alone - that is until our Sir Edmund appeared on the scene with a half pack of cigs and an idea for a band called Booty Taster. Tagging along with Sir Edmund was this weird effeminate bongo player called Manny who kept insisting to everyone that he was going to be the next Keith Moon. By this point, Edmund, UZI, and Manny (who incidentally, started calling himself "soft hands" - goodness knows why?...) started jamming in an abandoned chip truck near the Parliament buildings with Edmund shouting out lyrics to UZI & Mannys frenetic, frantic sonic reverberations. It wasn't until the addition of Blue Lou that the band started to draw a crowd. The story has ...
