| | Optimus Rhyme School The Indie Rockers CD Optimus Rhyme Discography of CDs
With Wackacon forces gathering on all fronts, Optimus Rhyme returned to their underground sonic laboratory with AutoBeat technician Jack Endino(Nirvana, Soundgarden) to produce their latest manifesto, School the Indie Rockers. Blending sci-fi themes with observations on everyday life, Optimus Rhyme’s second full-length album tackles subject matter ranging from local traffic law to the idiosyncrasies of artificial intelligence.Optimus Rhyme’s unique style has earned them a spot among the biggest names in nerdcore hip-hop, but they’re not satisfied with ruling geek culture. With this album, Optimus Rhyme is setting their sites squarely on the prize held by the Indie Rock oppressors that have ruled their city for far too long. School the Indie Rockers will become the rallying cry for the next generation of AutoBeat Allies rolling off the assembly line. | | Wassoulou Sound, Vol. 2: Women Of Mali CD
School The Indie Rockers songs
$16.85 The Wassoulou Sound, Vol. 2 isn't quite as striking as the first installment of Women of Mali, but it's still a strong collection effectively blending contemporary and traditional instruments in a pop context. The liner notes say Salif Keita and other male African vocalists have adopted arranging concepts from these artists, and Coumba Sidibe's singing on "Mougakan" is so fierce you're liable to double-check the credits to make sure Keita himself isn't singing. Vol. 2 is a little bit less of a Sidibe extended family affair -- only half of the ten tracks bear the name as opposed to six of the nine on its Women of Mali predecessor. Coumba and Sali ...

| | Tina Moore CD (1995)
School The Indie Rockers CD music
$11.39 Many of the urban contemporary singers who made their recording debuts in 1995 went out of their way to be as hip-hop as possible, but not Tina Moore. Instead of emulating Mary J. Blige or the members of TLC and En Vogue, Tina Moore favors more of an "Anita Baker meets Whitney Houston" approach on this self-titled debut album. Six of the ten tracks were produced by Michael J. Powell (who is known for his work with Baker), including the melancholy single "Color Me Blue." Definitely a gem, "Color Me Blue" is the best thing on the CD, although her remake of Harry Warren's "At Last" runs a close second. Most of the material, however, is pretty routine, and that includes the funkier tracks as well as more adult contemporary-minded offerings like "All I Can Do" and "Love Don't Feel Like Love" (both of which are exactly the sort of ballads that Houston would record). But while Tina Moore is unremarkable more often than not, the album's best tracks let listeners know that the singer has potential. Unfortunately, Moore didn't have another label to go to when her relationship with Scotti Bros. ended, and six years later, she had yet to provide another full-length album. ~ Alex Henderson
This CD is a collection of songs from the late 60's and early '70's performed in a smooth easy-listening jazz style. Tina creates an intimate mood and like a fine wine, this CD is perfect for romantic evenings, dinner with friends or to relax after a hard day.Tina is described as a natural entertainer. Her poise and confidence combined with her delicate feminine vulnerability coaxes the audience into an intimate experience as her voice caresses the melody of the songs. She is a passionate performer who creates an undeniable chemistry with the audience. As the lead performer in a popular musical production for 11 years for Rocky Mountaineer Railtours, Tina has impressed audiences of over 300,000. She has entered and won numerous festivals and competitions and has over 20 years experience on-stage in a variety of formats including club bands, promotional events, fundraisers, showcases, and musical theatre. With her new self-titled CD Tina has received rave reviews from the media: ¨ "From her heartbreakingly intimate delivery of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" to the sultry groove of ...
| | Modavador g God's Story: It's All Good In The Hood CD (2005)
School The Indie Rockers music CDs
$17.19 Known as the father of Holy Hip Hop, George Salter, a.k.a. Modavador g, grew up fast on the streets of Buffalo, New York, only coming to Jesus in his late 30s. His lyrics bridge the gap, between the church and the streets, when he speaks God's Word over hip hop beatsIn "God's Story: It's All Good in The Hood," Modavador g uses spoken word to speak God's word. Speaking in lyrical terms, Modavador g tells the story of the Bible, Genesis to Revelation. Going from Creation through key Old Testament stories lays a clear foundation for understanding who Jesus is, and why he came to die. Struggling with dyslexia made reading hard for Modavador, yet he kept to the grind, graduating from university with honors and doing graduate seminary work. Still today, Modavador prefers hearing a story more than reading a story. So when the opportunity came to translate and narrate "God's Story" into hip hop, he didn't hesitate."Using my gifts as a lyricist to present the whole Bible in Spoken was God's great gift. It is my hope that all people, yes even those like me who grew up in the hood, will discover that God is good and that He keeps His promises to His people."To all my peeps, 'God's Story' took me deep into God's Word. Come with me cuz' 'God's Story'(truly) is all good in the hood. All praises go to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Peace ...
