A remarkable Isolde, but.........
I have been fortunate to see Christine Brewer in several operas in St. Louis and she has a most remarkable vocal instrument. I would rush to see her perform Isolde onstage. Unfortunately in this recording, Runnicles disappoints in his unimaginative conducting and Treleaven falls far short of heldentenor status. I would recommend this recording only for Brewer fans.

The real deal
Donald Runnicles is a gifted Wagner conductor, and Christine Brewer sings Isolde in the grand, big-voiced style with admirable steadiness. I was less impressed by John Treleaven; he hits the notes, but his voice -- as recorded here in "live" takes, one act at a time -- is dry and uningratiating. Otherwise, it's golden.
