Closed Captioned; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Director's Comments In this unforgettable debut film from Quentin Tarantino, a group of perfect strangers have been assembled to pull off the perfect heist. Meticulously planned, nothing can go wrong. But it turns into a bloody ambush when one of them turns out to be a police informer. As the group begins to question each other's guilt, the simmering tensions threaten to explode the situation before the police have a chance to step in. Boldly blending graphic violence with comedic references to popular culture, RESERVOIR DOGS ushered in an often-mimicked style of filmmaking in the 1990s. Former video store clerk Quentin Tarantino's directorial debut, RESERVOIR DOGS, is a brutally funny, supercharged introduction to his supremely distinct cinematic vision, which was later to become one of the most mimicked styles of the 1990s. Mastermind Joe Cabot (Lawrence Tierney) assembles a crew of top-notch criminals to pull off a jewelry store heist. As the film opens it becomes immediately clear that the plan backfired, forcing the survivors, who have gathered at an abandoned warehouse, to figure out if one of them is, in fact, a police informer. The crew--Mr. White (Harvey Keitel), an aged veteran; Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), a wounded newcomer; Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen), a psychopathic parolee; Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), a bickering weasel; and Nice Guy Eddie (Chris Penn), Joe's son--begin to unravel as the pressure becomes too much for them to handle. When Joe arrives, the truth becomes clear in a vicious Mexican standoff.
Tarantino takes liberally from Hong Kong action flicks, most notably Ringo Lam's CITY ON FIRE, but his ultra-hip ‘70s soundtrack and hysterical pop culture dialogue make the film seem wholly original and new. Taking a cue from the French New Wave--most notably Jean-Luc Godard--RESERVOIR DOGS remains one of the decade's most influential motion pictures. Tarantino's film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, Park City, Utah, on January 21, 1992. It was released theatrically in October 1992.
RESERVOIR DOGS is the directorial/writing debut for Quentin Tarantino, who also has a featured part in the film.
The character names in the film are a tribute to THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE, TWO, THREE (1974), which also featured characters named after colors.
James Woods was initially offered a role, but his agent dismissed the offer and didn't inform the actor until much later.

Great movie This is one of Quenton Tarentino's better films. I mean, this movie had a really good plot and it was enjoyable to watch. One thing that I always need in a movie is something to keep me interested. For example, The Godfather is a perfect movie, it had a perfect plot, perfect acting, perfect script and everything was delieverd perfect but it was a pain to watch just because it was so boring. It's just not my type of film. But this film kept me interested and wanting to watch more. I actually felt for some of the characters. Great movie.

AWESOME EXTRAS, NOT SO AWESOME DVD TRANSFER I won't get into how good this movie is. If you haven't seen it,you must not care much for good movies.I would like to give a warning for those who are thinking of purchasing this DVD.Because of the extras this DVD is worth the money in my oppinion. But the DVD image itself is not so good. The 1997 DVD issue of this movie had lots of grain and dirt, but the colors were quite good, and blacks were good. However on this "special edition" there were no grain or dirt problems at all really, but the image is VERY bright.Colors are washed out and blacks are almost gray in alot of instances. The faces and skin of the actors are quite pale.I wish i knew why Artisan did this, because i know they can do much better,(T2).But the extras make up for the bad image. The Sundance workshop scenes alone are worth the price. The commentary is several interviews with Tarantino, select cast members, crew, and producers edited together. Not too bad. There is also an interesting commentary from three critics on select scenes. The interview segments are rather humorous, and informative. If your a big film fan,or film maker the class of 92 section, and the noir web features are very cool.If you are a big Tarantino fan,or a big film buff then i would say buy it.If your not sure then rent it first. If your not sure about my oppinion there are tons of reviews all over the net saying how bad the image is.Check em out.The movie is certainly 5 stars, but because of the bad image i only gave the DVD 4 stars. Reservoir Dogs film
$11.79 Writer-director Quentin Tarantino revisits the seedier side of Los Angeles--following 1992's RESERVOIR DOGS--with this funny, violent, tongue-in-cheek tribute to the less "classic" side of filmmaking--the potboilers and capers, the Blaxploitation flicks and gangster movies. The film interweaves three tales, told in a circular, fractured manner, which only fully connect by the time the final credits roll. The first story focuses on Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), two hit men on duty for "the big boss," Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames), whose gorgeous wife, Mia (Uma Thurman), takes a liking to Vincent. In the second, a down-and-out pugilist (Bruce Willis), who is ordered to take a fall, decides that there's more money in doing the opposite. The final chapter follows a pair of lovers (Amanda Plummer and Tim Roth) as they prepare to hold up a diner.
Tarantino wears his cinematic influences proudly, bringing them to life in the ironically ...

| | Horrors Strange House CD (2007) Enhanced CD
Reservoir Dogs DVD
$9.99 On their singles and EPs, the Horrors proved they'd done their post-punk and freakbeat homework. With their debut album, Strange House, they push their sound forward, distill it to its rawest essence, and give it a few funhouse mirror twists and turns for good measure. Almost half of the songs on the album already appeared on previous Horrors releases, but the ever-so-slightly cleaner production here gives more definition to their black-on-black sound. The band kicks off Strange House by revisiting their cover of Screaming Lord Sutch's "Jack the Ripper," which begins at a zombie-slow pace, then suddenly speeds up halfway through, transforming into a hurtling roller coaster of a song that makes a great introduction to Strange House's mix of campy humor, energy, and menace. With its dive-bombing noise barely held together by Faris Badwan's shouting and the faintest hint of a melody, "Sheena Is a Parasite" is still the Horrors' best and most radical song, although several other tracks here rival its black-hearted thrills. Once again, Spider Webb's vicious keyboards are the band's not-so-secret weapon, especially on the fantastic, strutting "She Is the New Thing," which blurs the line between girls and trends, flings and boredom, with macabre flair. On Strange House's wildest tracks, the Horrors channel their ...
