| | Chris Young CD Chris Young Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
Winner of the first season of the country singing competition Nashville Star, Chris Young makes a seamless transition from TV to record with his self-titled debut--a solid, rock-influenced country album that features a number of songs co-written by Young himself. Highlights include the excellent first single "Drinkin' Me Lonely" and the stomping country rocker "Beer or Gasoline," which Young delivers with Toby Keith-style one-of-the-guys bravado.

| | Jake Owen Startin' With Me CD (2006)
Chris Young music CDs
$7.59 24-year-old country singer Jake Owen debuts with the self-assured--and largely self-written--STARTIN' WITH ME, a solid example of contemporary Nashville country that doesn't neglect its traditional roots. Neither as slick as Keith Urban nor as rock-influenced as Muzik Mafia types like Big & Rich or Gretchen Wilson, the Florida-born Owen is a contemporary analogue ...
| | George Strait It Just Comes Natural CD (2006)
Chris Young songs
$10.79 Such a perfect title for a George Strait album it's a wonder it hasn't been used before, IT JUST COMES NATURAL showcases one of the all-time great Nashville country singers in his natural habitat. Surrounded by fiddles, steel guitars, mandolins, and other signifiers of the new traditionalist country sound that he remains loyal to more than a quarter-century into his career, Strait delivers 15 wry breakup songs (first single, "Give it Away"), heartbroken ballads ...
| | Vince Gill These Days CDs (2006) Digipak
Chris Young album
$17.99 Not since Prince released the three-hour, three-CD set EMANCIPATION in 1996 or the Magnetic Fields took a similar number of discs for the sprawling 69 LOVE SONGS in 1999 has an artist attempted something as expansive as Vince Gill's THESE DAYS. A four-disc box set of all new material, nearly all of it Gill originals, THESE DAYS is possibly the widest-ranging country album of the modern era. The four discs are thematically and stylistically arranged. Disc one, WORKIN' ON A BIG CHILL, is a 1960s-flavored rock-and-roll album that recalls Bob Dylan's late '60s work with the Band and features Bonnie Bramlett's vocals on several songs. Disc two, THE REASON WHY, is a modern pop record in the style of Shania Twain's international releases, with several duet partners including Sheryl Crow and Leann Rimes. Disc three, SOME THINGS NEVER GET OLD, is straight honky-tonk in the Ray Price and Lefty Frizzell tradition. Finally, disc four, LITTLE BROTHER, is a strictly acoustic bluegrass and folk album ...

Chris Young CD music
$14.45 While it might be sacrilegious to blues aficionados, many listeners find the genre a bit boring. How many times, they wonder, can a singer rely on three chords to sing about how his woman left him? Paul Geremia rises above the blues dog pile on Love, Murder and Mosquitos by bringing edgy vocals and lively acoustic guitar work to bear on an eclectic set list. It's doubtful, for instance, that the listener has heard anything quite like "Evil World Blues." The arrangement is highlighted by Geremia's deft fingerpicking and Martin Grosswendt's bluesy fiddle, and the lyric, while centered on timely problems, has an unmistakably contemporary touch: "Homelessness is a nightmare in the veil of corporate greed/It will chew you up and spew you out to fertilize the American dream." Geremia, ...
