Eight-year-old Kevin McCallister is accidentally left home alone by his family while they fly off to France for Christmas vacation. Kevin loves his freedom, delightedly gorging himself on sweets and staying up late -- until he is forced to defend his home from a team of burglers. But Kevin learns that self-defense can be fun too, as he goes about flying to defeat the bumbling thieves.

Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. Ultimately, Kevin learns the importance of family during the holidays in a touching reunion with his clan that is highlighted by the film's amazing original score, which was nominated for an Academy Award.

Macauley Culkin's real-life brother, Kieran, appears as his fictional cousin, Fuller, in the film. Next-door neighbor Marley is played by Roberts Blossom. Blossom is best known to horror-movie fans as Ezra Cobb, the farmer and mass murderer in "Deranged". "Deranged" was based on the true story of Ed Gein, which also served loosely as the inspiration for "Psycho" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Filmed on location in Chicago, Illinois. Shooting began February 14, 1990; completed May 16, 1990. Estimated budget $13 million. Color by Deluxe. Released in USA and Canada November 16, 1990. Released on video August 22, 1991. Film was, at the time, the third highest-grossing film of all time. Reviewed in the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times 11/16/1990, and Monthly Film Bulletin 1/1990. Running time is listed as 102 minutes in most sources, with some sources listing either 98 minutes or 105 minutes. Rated BBFC PG by the British Board of Film Classification.

5 stars Funny christmas comedy about being home alone!
I've seen Home Alone and I own it on VHS only not DVD here. My favorite two parts from this movie are when Macaulay Culkin looks into his bathroom home mirror and yells "HAAAAAAA!". While putting on after shave lotion on his face and deoderant. Or when he's alone in this grocery store and he says to the cash register lady "Are You With Your Parents Right Now". Culkin says "No!". And the cash register grocery store lady says "How Come". Finally Culkin says "I Can't Tell You That Because Your A Stranger". This movie is funny and I consider it to be a christmas comedy classic for sure.

In M. Night Shyamalan's THE SIXTH SENSE, Bruce Willis plays Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a successful Philadelphia child psychologist who is haunted by the sudden reappearance and suicide of a former patient. Months later Dr. Crowe encounters Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), a troubled, withdrawn young boy who bears a striking similarity to his earlier patient. Dr. Crowe is compelled to help Cole, not only for the boy's sake, but for his own redemption. As Dr. Crowe struggles to determine what torments Cole, he must also come to terms with his increasingly distant relationship to his wife (Olivia Williams). Meanwhile, Cole is unable to describe the horrible things he sees even to his worried mother (Toni Collette). The scene where Cole finally tells Dr. Crowe about his supernatural secret is one of the 1990s most quoted and well-known cinematic moments. A gripping ghost story with a stunning finale, THE SIXTH SENSE became a surprise blockbuster shortly after its release. The film features Oscar-nominated performances by the startlingly intense Osment and the fiercely maternal Collette, as well as a subtle, subdued turn by Willis. Shyamalan directs his intriguing script with almost clinical precision, using carefully framed visuals to create the film's distinctly chilling atmosphere. On the strength of its pitch-perfect acting and direction, THE SIXTH SENSE has become the most successful thriller of all time. 107 minute horror feature film DVD starring Bruce Willis an d Donnie Wahlberg.

This vignette-laden, nostalgic view of Christmastime in 1940s Indiana follows nine-year-old Ralphie, who desperately wants a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas--and is waging an all-out campaign to convince his reluctant parents that the toy will be safe in his hands. By turns warped and winsome, the comedy follows Ralphie as he prepares for the big day with his rather idiosyncratic family. Based on the novel by humorist Jean Shepherd (who also narrates the film), A CHRISTMAS STORY gained popularity long after its theatrical run, through frequent holiday broadcasts that turned its schoolyard "triple-dog" dares, family neuroses, and childhood indignities into a Yuletide tradition. This 98 minute feature film is a DVD starring Peter Billin gsley, Darren McGavin, and Melinda Dillon. Discontinued.

Eddie Presley DVD  (1993)

Home Alone movie DVD
DVD $7.75
By day, he works at a dead-end security job. By night, he is Eddie Presley (Duane Whitaker, who also wrote the screenplay), Elvis impersonator extraordinaire. Sadly, though, Eddie's life seems to be falling apart. The clubs he performs in have gotten increasingly smaller, his girlfriend has left him, and he can barely afford to live out of his van. But when he gets a chance at a "comeback" show at a seedy Hollywood nightclub, Eddie sees it as a chance to turn his luck around. Unfortunately, the performance won't go quite as he plans it. This bittersweet cult curiosity about the lower reaches of the Hollywood food chain also stars Ted Raimi, Lawrence Tierney, and Roscoe Lee Browne, and features cameos from Quentin Tarantino and Bruce Campbell. Eddie Presley is a down-on-his-luck ex-Elvis impersonator. With his days of former glory performing in small to medium-sized clubs behind him, he's stuck in a dead-end security job, making barely enough to live out of his van. Eddie's luck is about to change when he's offered a comeback gig at a seedy Hollywood nightclub. He has a breakdown on stage and gives the audience a powerful improvised performance they'll not forget. Stars Duane Whitaker, Clu Gulager, Roscoe Lee Brown.
