Originally released in 1980, LIVE WITHOUT A NET features the classic line-up of the heavy metal outfit Angel featuring guitarist Punky Meadows and singer Frank DiMino. Angel rocked, but their highly melodic, glam-influenced style was a precursor to late-`80s hair metal bands like Poison and Cinderella. The reissue of the two-disc live set, which features their hit "Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore" and a powerhouse cover of "All the Young Dudes," includes new liner notes and digitally remastered sound.
Digitally remastered reissue of this 1978 live album by Hard Glam rockers Angel, featuring the none other than Punky Meadows on guitar! Originally released on Casablanca Records, this set features all of Angel's stand-out tracks live including 'Don't Leave Me Lonely', 'Anyway You Want It', 'Got Love If You Want It' and more. Packaged in a slipcase with new liner notes. A terrific reissue of a very underappreciated band. Submitted by Tom (Hamden CT) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Great Live Rock! This is the best work from Angel and also the band's last release. The 1st cd has more "bubble-gum" type rock than I would perfer, but the 2nd cd more than makes up for it with awsome guitar, drum, keyboard, base solo's. Really good stuff!!!! timeless THIS SOUNDS JUST AS GOOD AS IT DID 28 YEARS AGO.ANGEL SHOULD BE A NAME THAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOWS,BUT THAT WERE A FEW YEARS AHEAD OF THE TIMES HOWEVER THEY STILL GAVE US 5 ALBUMS PLUS THIS LIVE ONE.I DARE ANYONE TO LISTEN TO "FEELIN RIGHT"AND TELL ME THAT THERE IS A BETTER ROCK N ROLL SONG AND I'LL SHOW YOU SOMEONE WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT. YOU BETTER BUY THIS CD NOW BEFORE IT GOES AWAY AGAIN,THEN YOU'LL BE PAYING 75.00 ON EBAY. NOW WE NEED "ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN" REMASTERED Submitted by LANCE21COSTELLO (DAYTONA BEACH FL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
probably best life act ever live without a net, was a kiler, in 1980/81 i turned on a few friends by listening to it in angel fans.
i gave it 4 stars, because the sound on cd lacks a bit compared to the vinyl in this case Submitted by gert-jan (ermelo(holland)) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Forgotten Classic Finally getting this on cd after it being out of print for years was an absolute pleasure. Listening to Angel in a live setting is something all too few modern rock fans can claim to have done. Just listening to Punky Meadows and Gregg Guiffria trade licks is worth the price alone, but to hear them do that during so many classic songs is an experience I would recommend to any music fan who takes their rock and roll seriously. Live Without A Net album
$5.45 In the 1970s, Angel epitomized the type of commercial rockers who were hated by rock journalists but adored by their fans. When White Hot came out in 1977, critics wondered why anyone would spend money on Angel's ultra-slick, formulaic pop-metal, hard rock and arena rock when the punk and new ...

$13.59 Although Uriah Heep is known for its extensive personnel changes, its lineup has been stable since the mid-'80s; unfortunately, that stability coincided with the band's commercial decline (its last album to chart in the U.S. came in 1983, its last in its native U.K., ...

$9.99 It's a scandal that Sony Music's American catalog only offers a late '80s vintage compilation of Art Garfunkel's music, limited to 12 songs and indifferently mastered even by the standards of the time; meanwhile, Sony's British catalog has released this 20-song collection which, though it's not perfect, does ...

$17.15 The debut album entitled 'White Clouds' is a collaboration between U.K based brothers Paul and Jack Davis. From an early age the pair were inspired by listening to bands and artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Neal Morse amongst others, and set about creating progressive, artistic, unique, dynamic and innovative music with an atmospheric sound. The result is an album of 10 original songs full of drama, emotion and melody. A concept album which dates back to pre 1914 and follows the life of a young British man who moves from the south coast of England to the centre of Berlin a few months before the First World War breaks out. White Clouds gives a modern backdrop to The Great War. The first writing sessions of the album began in the spring of 2006. With a few ideas being put down, the first song they worked on was Argonne Wood. The Morning Fields of Amber Grey and Stars of May followed shortly after. Russ Wilson (http:// myspace /russwilsonuk) was later asked to record the drums at the start of January 2007. The band found Russ on the internet via the above myspace link and remarkably he just happened to live a couple of streets away! After a couple of meetings with Russ he introduced the band to Nick Andrew (http:// nickandrew. net). Nick had shown a keen interest in the music and engineered the recording of the drums. When they had finished the drum tracks Nick offered to produce the album and both he and the band were happy and very excited about the prospect of working together. Jack- 'We wanted to do an album, so we knew we would have ...
