(2 Customer Reviews)
The lighthearted A BRAD PAISLEY CHRISTMAS has several of the usual holiday suspects on it, such as "Winter Wonderland" and "Silver Bells." However, Paisley also contributes several of his own tunes to the holiday repertoire, all of them in keeping with his own laid-back image. The gently goofy "Penguin, James Penguin," and "Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday" fit neatly next to the more earnest "364 Days To Go" and "Born On Christmas Day." A cover of Buck Owens's honky-tonk classic "Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy" is a nice fit as well.
Personnel: Brad Paisley (acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Mike Johnson (dobro); Gordon Mote (piano, organ); Ben Sesar (drums); Wes Hightower (background vocals).

Brad Paisley Christmas album
$9.35 Contains an untitled hidden track which follows "Farther Along."
"Spaghetti Western Swing" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance. "Celebrity" was nominated for Best Country Song.
If Brad Paisley did not exist it would be necessary to invent him. He stands at the crossroads between the hipster realms of alt-country and the proletarian climes of mainstream Nashville. He's too close to the middle of the road to ever be drawn to the No Depression crowd's collective bosom, but he's miles ahead of the country assembly line. On his third album he continues to ...

Brad Paisley Christmas album
$11.99 Paisley also assembles quite a list of guest stars: a re-recording of an early hit features a guest appearance by the actor Andy Griffith, while the Bakersfield country rocker "Come On In" features the late Buck Owens and a bluesy take on "Let the Good Times Roll" welcomes B.B. King. Two vocal tracks, "Start A Band" and "More Than Just This Song," feature Keith Urban and Steve Warriner, respectively, while the ...
| | Brad Paisley American Saturday Night CD (2009)
Brad Paisley Christmas CD music
$12.95 An American saturday night is not an unusual topic for a country song but Brad Paisley's celebration is. Paisley sees a typical weekend night as a cultural collision of French kisses, Italian Ices, Canadian bacon and margaritas, a place where Mexican and Dutch beers chill side by side in a bucket of ice. If he leans too heavily on labels, referring to those beers by brand name, it's merely a reflection of Paisley's uncanny knack for capturing the casual contemporary details of American life at the tail end of the 2000s. ...
| | Steely Dan Can't Buy A Thrill CD (1972) Remastered
Brad Paisley Christmas music CDs
$6.49 This is the album that introduced Donald Fagen and Walter Becker's unique, idiosyncratic, and highly polished craftsmanship. Although CAN'T BUY A THRILL lacks the overtly jazzy tendencies that would define albums like AJA, it distinguishes itself from nearly all of the mainstream pop and rock of the era with its smooth, lounge-y feel, catchy hooks, and immaculate studio polish. They were played alongside the Doobie Brothers and the Eagles on '70s FM radio, but Steely Dan's ...

| | Portable Kate Campbell CD (2004)
Brad Paisley Christmas CD music
$5.99 You've got to figure that there's something to do with record contract machinations in Kate Campbell's curious decision to re-record 29 of the 33 songs on her second (Moonpie Dreams), third (Visions of Plenty), and fourth (Rosaryville) albums, all originally released on Compass Records, and instead issue them on two albums, this one and Sing Me Out, released on the same day, August 10, 2004, on Compadre Records, along with a reissue of her debut album, Songs From the Levee. The obvious thing to say is that if you own those earlier albums is you probably don't need this one, which features re-recordings of "Wrought Iron Fences," "Galaxie 500," "Tupelo's Too Far," "When Panthers Roamed in ...

| | Buffalo Killers CD (2006)
Brad Paisley Christmas songs
$12.95 In their days as members of the Shams, the Gabbard brothers kicked out down and dirty, high adrenaline rock, slamming the Rolling Stones straight into the heart of psychedelic garage. Now with their new project, Buffalo Killers, the brothers are joined by drummer/pianist/harpsichordist Joseph Sebaali and have closed the garage door and embarked on a journey into classic rock. "San Martine des Morelle," which opens the Buffalo Killers eponymous set, makes their evolution crystal clear, presenting a slowly simmering track that's bluesy to the core, but lashed with Jimi Hendrix-esque wah-wah guitar. "Down in the Blue" is even slower-paced, all the better to luxuriate in the heaving blues riff, while "Children of War" is even heavier, a pointed reminder of that time in the late '60s when bands discovered the power of slowing R&B down and thrusting up the bottom end. But these Killers aren't ...
| | Yngwie Malmsteen Fire & Ice CD (1992)
Brad Paisley Christmas album
$10.45 The success of Nirvana's Nevermind in late 1991 left many '80s metal guitarists out in the cold, and Yngwie Malmsteen was no exception. After leaving Polydor, he signed to Elektra and released the one-hour-plus Fire and Ice. The record is most successful when Malmsteen returns to the heavy baroque influence of his early work, and there are some fine longer compositions here that will please hardcore Yngwie fans. "Cry No More," in particular, contains an arrangement of Bach's "Badinerie." However, the record also contains flawed stabs at radio rock, such as the single "Teaser," ...
