This imaginatively assembled collection of hip-hop features the Nashville rapper Count Bass-D's freestyle musings, spoken over a nicely trashy sounding backdrop of found samples, electronic doodles, and slow-as-molasses beats. D's hazy stream-of-consciousness raps and reminiscences meander in and out of thickly layered cuts like "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms," "The Slugger of Louisville," and the freewheeling "Internationally Known," until, with its interwoven music samples, the set sounds like a sound collage of the last three decades of R&B.CMJ (p.5) - "Old-school indie-vet Bass D is back with more boom-bap....The beats are serviceably bangin'..." It don't get any better than this folks.
Originality is high, and the variation of sound from track to track makes this release simply incredible. 'Act Your Waist Size' is creativeness at it's pinnacle. Cound Bass continues to be the best producer nobody has ever heard. What a shame.

There's somethin about Bass Ds' beats that makes me want to throw it on and listen when it begins to start snowin'.. I dont know if it's because he's from the east coast or if it's because he seems to release his tracks during the fall/winter seasons?.. One thing I know,is that his music makes me satisfied! No reason not to give this guy 5 stars...

Piquet: Yves Lenzin, 1976, from Baden, Switzerland. When learning to play the flute as an eight year old he preferred to perform his own compositions to the teacher instead of doing exercises. He soon quit all musical lessons and in 1990 discovered the pleasures of producing electronic music on his father’s Atari. His early experiments developped into a variation of what was then hardcore techno.
