| Hard Road Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) Greeny rules! Unbelievable for 1966, we've got Peter Green, of course, Aynsley Dunbar & John McVie. This includes the original album(probably in mono mix)& two singles w/a & b sides, two session outtakes & a four song EP w/Paul Butterfield. Also, I think there are four BBC tracks, which I can't wait to hear. I have the USA version of this which includes all of these except the BBC tracks, but includes a ultra rare cut Peter Green cut from "Raw Blues", eight tracks also on the UK version of "Crusade", a single w/a & b sides from the UK version of Bare Wires & "First Time Alone" w/Peter Green from Mayall's Blues from Laurel Canyon. The UK version, overall, has a better mix/remaster than the American version although I had to have both & the rest of the others. I still need both "Looking Back & Thru the Years", although most of those tracks are on these various CD's. "Back to the Roots" is another great album of Mayall's that includes Harvey Mandel, Mick & Larry Taylor, Eric Clapton,(whose playing sounds like the Derek era Eric), Keef Hartley & Sugarcane Harris. To complete the catalog of '60 & '70's era Mayall, I would need, Mayall plays Mayall, Blues Alone & Dairies of a Band Vol. I & II. The Turning Point is one I haven't really given a fair listen yet, so I won't review it. Last but not least, I forget I need "Primal Solos", although I have the cuts w/Eric from on the Deluxe Edition UK version of the Beano album. That version of that CD is simply amazing. Oh yeah, also USA Union is a drummerless album with Harvey Mandel, Sugarcane Harris & Larry Taylor. I finally think that about covers Mayall's early career, although he was already old then. Great classic album! I got the USA 2CD version of this in 2004 & have really enjoyed it. I then more recently purchased the UK versions of other Mayall albums including the Deluxe Edition of the Beano album w/ Eric Clapton & they sound 3x's better than this version, so I decided to get the UK version of Hard Road to round out my collection. Next I'm going to get both the Complete Otis Spann & Eddie Boyd albums done w/ Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Submitted by bill (rogers, ar usa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Hard Road album
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").

Hard Road music CDs
$14.69 "Tough Love"Reviewed by Eric Steiner, Cosmik Debris Magazine, 1999Long-time San Francisco area back-up guitarist Chris Michie is out front on his third disc CatchARecord Records, since Tough Love is well worth a listen. Chris has shared the stage with such blues luminaries as B.B. King, Albert King, Big Mama Thornton, Buddy Guy, and Elvin Bishop. In addition to playing with a who's who in the blues, Chris has played some of the Bay Area's trendsetting venues like The Fillmore, The Matrix, Winterland and The Family Dog. Michie's lead guitar sparkles on "Shaky House," an uptempo blues about life in an earthquake zone. He's got a full band with a capable horn section that ushers in the wistful "Don' Wanna Go," a song that gives voice to Viet Nam veterans who had second thoughts about returning stateside. My favorites include the straightahead ...

Hard Road album
$35.75 ROD DOWSETTBehind Rod's emotionally charged vocals are the stories he writes from his own experiences. His music is raw - it's OUTLAW music. Late 2003 Rod made his way into the studio to record an EP titled 'Six Tracks Down', at Valley Sound Studio Dairyville. Nestled in the rolling forest mountains behind Coffs Harbour, it was the perfect backdrop to create his music. With the help of a couple of great friends producer Pete Dyball and the inspirational Bill Chambers (Dead Ringer Band/Kasey Chambers), Rod was able to produce a remarkable recording that gained recognition from his peers. Early 2003 saw Bill Chambers & Audrey Auld invite Rod to perform with them during Tamworth and it was described as 'the best sound on the streets in five years'. This sound also resulted in Rod being chosen to perform in the Buskers Championships at Bicentennial Park in front of thousands of people in 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006 respectively and overall winner of the Charters Towers Country Music Festival Busking Championship for 2007. Rod has shared the stage with other notable artists such as Dave Glesson (Screaming Jets) and The Stiltsons, and has performed at numerous festivals throughout Australia including Gympie Muster, Urban Country Muster, Charters Towers CMF, Tamworth CM Festival and Hats Off To Country. Late 2005 saw Rod release his debut album 'Dodging Bullets' - an album that takes you on a journey of tales. Rod bares his soul on tracks such as 'I'll Never Understand Why' & 'Thrill Of The Chase' to the simple 'I Got Me A Boat' and title track 'Dodging Bullets'. 'For a relative newcomer Rod captures a quality in his music that many seasoned veterans would be envious of!. There's a country rock quality about Rod but he doesn't go far from the traditional feel!. Rod Dowsett has a fresh sound, most importantly it's his own and he isn't trying to be anybody else!. Great lyrics, great sound and great potential!. Give ...
