Yeah mon, this is stand-up reggae and take notice...from an infectious beat that has you moving, to the bassline which resonates, with smooth overtones of jazz, along with some spirit inspired lyrics...highly recommend.

Finally something to be truly excited for, and proud of. American reggae in the classically-inspired, jazz-soaked, amalgamation of contemporary Bay Area improvisationally based fusion. Bringing together the heady poly-rhythmic compositions of drop-beat jazz and the fierce lyrical "truth to power" stance of one-drop reggae, Groundation challenges its unknowing listeners. Its certainly worth a listen.

The grassroots consensus on this American reggae band is mixed. On the one hand, there is simply no denying its outrageous way with a roots reggae groove; other than the justly celebrated John Brown's Body, there may not be another white reggae band that plays this music so idiomatically and powerfully. On the other hand, there's singer Harrison Stafford.
