tilomo - soft lunch (1k recordings) file under: electronic“Tim Motzer has made some pretty noisy shit...Ursula Rucker and King Britt's Sister Gertrude Morgan CD—not to mention contributions to David Sylvian's Nine Horses and Jaki Liebezeit's Secret Rhythms 2. Yet, on this new solo excursion, this Philadelphian finds solace in silence. Tilomo, Tim Motzer's guitar/laptop solo project, benefits greatly from the sloe-gin-y liquid soul of his work with Britt—you can hear it in the way his fuzzy jazz-foink chords ooze through the title track. But there's a sputter, beep, whoosh and clink to the proceedings that make it happily irksome and decidedly un-neo-soulful. The sawed, strained string samples of "Blue Samari," the thickly blown wind sounds that trace the development of "Embrace" from autumn chill to winter storm, the cheery tinkling of "Chi Moto"—there are eight million moody stories to be told in this ambient jungle. “--A.D. Amorosi (City Paper) Philadelphia “…really interesting textures and rhythms making it as close to Warp-style electronica as to traditional ambient/chillout.” Burning Shed UK“Soft Lunch is space. Space for consciousness. Sky music.” Enrico Mariani – MovingBox Reggio Emilia, Italy“Tilomo is baby making music for robots.” King Britt - FiveSixtilomotilomo is the experimental electronic brainchild of Philadelphia guitarist/producer Tim Motzer. He's well known for his astonishing guitar work on the many world tours and recordings with poet Ursula Rucker. As King Britt's production partner, his guitars and music have graced remixes by the Doors, Curtis Mayfield, 4 Hero, George Duke, Everything But The Girl, Dizzy Gillespie, and many others. In 2005, he co-produced the critically acclaimed King Britt presents: Sister Gertrude Morgan on ropeadope records. His multi-culti guitar and compositions are also featured on David Sylvian's Nine Horses - Snow Borne Sorrow--voted best album of the year on numerous European music polls--as well as the Burnt Friedman-Jaki Liebezeit release: Secret Rhythms 2 on nonplace. Most recently Tim (along with King Britt) has completed music for the upcoming Miami Vice movie starring Jamie Fox and Colin Ferrill.tilomo – soft lunch (1k)a break from the fastlife. internal. latenight. lights low.create your own world. 10 soundtracks. each a world in it’s own.get wrapped inside the seductive soundwomb of soft lunch.track listing:01 soft lunch02 blue samari03 embrace04 gelid05 chi moto06 zen assembler07 spellbound08 shadow guitar09 sadness10 after they’ve gonetilomo: guitar + laptop compostions + improvisationsjeremy carlstedt: source drumming on gelidshadow guitar and sadness were used by thescottish dance theatre for their choreographyentitled moment touring scotland and uk 2004produced by tim motzer for one k music groupmixed and recorded at nautica, philadelphiaall tracks tim motzer one k music co (bmi)mastered by bogdan hernikillustration: thomas schmid design: benjamin langsfeld for eneone.comspecial thanks to: ableton, sean, scottish dance theatre, king, and stefan.
