Dwell Here album
$11.18 With Adam Lambert, American Idol finally got a finalist who was completely, utterly contemporary, aware of what's hip in music and culture and aware of how music is made and consumed in 2009, never seeming to try to follow fads or set trends, just embodying the time. Mercifully, he came in second to Kris Allen, for if he came in first he may have had to tame his self-styled glamazon ways. A second place finish allowed Lambert to come out of the closet and indulge in his penchant for theater on his debut, For Your Entertainment -- which isn't quite the same thing as camp, for if Adam Lambert is anything, he's earnest about his dress-up, never winking at the audience because he doesn't think there's much funny about his glitter and mascara: that's just what pop stars are supposed to do. He's learned that by listening to his stacks of Queen and Bowie records, from watching old MTV videos on YouTube, from living in a present that always competes with the ever-present past, so he takes it all at face value, mixing up arena rock guitars, new ...

Dwell Here CD music
$18.99 "Shoot For the Moon" is a diverse guitar rock album with electronic production utilizing stacked drums, percussion skin drums, grinding bass synths and ancient antique guitars. Even clay bird shaped Costa Rican flutes and a Jesus tamborine have their place in the multitude of trax stacked together to create this revolutionary album."Shoot For the Moon" is packed full of audio, a whopping 73 minutes and 43 seconds worth, just 17 seconds shy of a completely full cd. There are all kinds of moods to enhance your every emotion and make you feel more sophisticated and enlightened when you jam Jean Roca!Jean Roca got his first guitar when he was 9. It was a tiny harmony acoustic guitar that has since been glued back together to bring music to the streets of Earth. JR picked playing the electric guitar at the age of 13. The first guitar he really jammed on was an old Kalamazoo. It was his friend's, Craig Melancon's, given to him by his dad. That was the first time he had a chance to sit down and hammer something out. Craig showed JR what power chords were and young Jean Roca thought they were badass. They jammed throughout high school to Pantera, Old Metallica, and Nirvana. The first band JR played shows with was 'Spork' in high school when he was 15. The drummer was Jamey Crosby and bassist Joel Childress. They changed their name to 'Gollum's Revenge' because they were nerds and liked the Lord of the rings books. (That was before the movies) They went to a small high school and everywhere they played they were too loud and too heavy. They weren't able to get into any bars, or even to them for that matter. Jamey was oldest and had a Ram charger so they piled their equipment and would play dances, operation graduation, and spring fling. That's when Jean Roca learned how to rock for the cause. His next band was Carbon 14. He was a singer and stooge as he would dress up in crazy outfits and do erratic things on stage. He learned the power of his voice and the limits of it too. Corey Trahan wrote most of the songs and played lead guitar. Ryan Landry played bass and Daniel Maguire played drums. After Joey quit rhythm guitar JR took over and soon after they dissloved the band after the drummer tried to choke JR cause he got all the chics and Corey and Ryan moved to Austin and Jean Roca couldn't cause there's no surf there. Now I'm tired of writing in 3rd person so I am going to change the narration of my life's musical journey to 1st person. I was confused what I wanted to do with my life but I knew it had to revolve around music. After a trip to Austin to go see my old friends from Carbon 14 Corey, Ryan and Brad Byram from Ugly Tribe I knew what it was. I went to the studio with them to watch the producer mix and from the moment I saw him choppin and editing I knew I wanted to do that. That guy was Bryan Jones, guitarist ...

| | Crewman Number Six Nice To Meet You CD (2007)
Dwell Here music CDs
$12.65 Crewman Number Six simply put is rock and funk grooves, grungy and bluesy progressions and melodies, with the timbre of metal. Introspective, connecting to their world, and ridiculous, Crewman Number Six comes from and speaks to the gut and believes in what they have to say. These N.J. based rockers are reminiscent of everything from Kyuss to Prince. 'Nice To Meet You' is the debut full length album for Crewman Number Six."Nice to Meet You - A pleasingly moody'n'melodic serving of brooding pop-rock. The deep, hoarse and commanding vocals deliver the concise lyrics with a snappy rhythmic aplomb. The perfectly crunchy'n'punchy arrangements go heavy on the gritty grinding guitars, steady pounding drums, and fat churning basslines, creating a thick, pungent and atmospheric sound that really gets under your skin. Better still, there's a smart and engaging reflective aspect to the songwriting which in turn knocks the already fine quality of this album up a few extra notches. Moreover, these guys pour on the tasty funk with "Gone," score a beautifully tuneful bull's eye with the lovely "Rasa," and conclude things on a properly sober note with the poignant "Evil of Indifference." A very solid and satisfying album."-Joe Wawyrzniak, www.jerseybeat.com"I ...
