Goth-punkers I Am Ghost may be the only hardcore band in recent memory to have a full-time violinist and guest-starring vocal choir, but that's their way: shattering expectations along with eardrums. For their second album, the Long Beach band has written an epic rock opera, boldly tackling Grand Guignol themes in songs like the cathartic "Our Friend Lazarus," and the prog-rockin' "Pretty People Never Lie, Vampires Never Die."

I absolutely love this cd! I also couldn't wait to buy We Are Always Searching,which is excellent, too. This band is one of the best I've heard. Any one will love their cds; the music is so creative, different, and beautiful. Hopefully, a new cd from I Am Ghost will be out soon!

amazing
this cd is probably the best thing i've listened to. I Am Ghost is my favorite band. their songs are definitaly different from other bands, most bands sound almost the same but, now I Am Ghost, they are different, with the violin and the latin and just the way there music sound is amazing. i think anyone can fall in love with this cd,
but you just made one little mistake, "The Ship of Pills and Needful Things" is not the name of the song. its Needed Things not Needful.

OK, let's get this straight, this is the kind of bands like HIM, Escape The Fate, and Avenged Sevenfold. They combine the music of gothic rock, punk, post-hardcore, and a little bit of opera. (And it's not metal!!) The best songs have got to be "Dark Carnival Of The Immaculate", "Our Friend Lazarus Sleeps", "Pretty People Never Lie, Vampires Really Never Die", "Lover's Requiem", and let's not forget.... "Ship Of Pills And Needful Things"!! "Dark Carnival Of The Immaculate" was a very creepy song, with some carnival sounds and laughter in the beginning and out came the screaming. "Ship Of Pills And Needful Things" was really, really well-done, creepy song. Their lyrics are very dark, scary, and all about love and sorrow. Very catchy songs that is addicting. But I just don't like songs "This Is Home" and "Beyond The Hourglass". A lot of people have got to hear this band, for hardcore and gothic people!! GET THIS!!

this album is well-crafted,smart,stylish,and different.i am ghost are a truly amazing band and this is not only one of the greatest records ive heard in awhile but one of the greatest records ive ever had the pleasure of listening to.a must for any music lover!
