$8.45 This collection of three vintage Sasquatch movies includes the first science fiction film ever to feature a Yeti. THE SNOW CREATURE (1954) finds botanist Dr. Parrish (Paul Langton) on an expedition in Tibet, when his Sherpa guide claims that his wife has been kidnapped by a Bigfoot. Meeting disbelief from his Western charges, he takes the group at gunpoint and leads them to the cave where a family of Yetis is holding his wife captive, and the scientists are able to capture one of them. En route to the States, however, it escapes, and winds up terrorizing Los Angeles. Then, in SNOWBEAST (1977), a ski resort is plagued by a rash of deaths apparently caused by animal attacks; the sheriff (Clint Walker) thinks that a Yeti is behind the killings, but the resort owner (Sylvia Sidney), protective of her business, unwisely keeps the place open. Ultimately, it's up to a couple of champion skiers (Bo Svenson and Yvette Minieux) to hunt the beast down. Finally, in the docudrama SASQUATCH, THE LEGEND OF BIGFOOT (1977), scientists are combing the Pacific Northwest for evidence of the Sasquatch. They are attempting to separate myth and legend from the truth, but all the stories they've collected does not prepare them for what they find!
Sasquatch, the Legend of Bigfoot: In this docudrama, a group of scientists sets out into the Pacific Northwest wilderness to find and capture a Sasquatch, better known as Bigfoot. They find what they're looking for... and wish they hadn't! Snowbeast: A ski resort ...

$10.29 After the events of the previous decade in Los Angeles, this 1988 film about L.A. street gangs as seen through the eyes of the LAPD represented a serious effort to throw some light on the appalling carnage of that world in which, for example, 400 gangbangers were killed in 1987, the year the film was in production. It stars Robert Duvall as Mike Hodges and Sean Penn as Danny McGavin, veteran/rookie cop partners attached to CRASH, the LAPD's gang-supression unit. Hodges has been working South Central for years and has the gangbangers' respect for his low-key, quid pro quo demeanor. Despite his partner's admonitions, McGavin wants to play Rambo, bringing the hammer down on gang members at every opportunity. Ultimately the rage that drives the younger man destroys his relationship with his girlfriend, Louisa Gomez (Maria Conchita Alonso), and raises questions as to whether he should even be allowed to wear a badge. While considerable attention is paid to the complicated ...

$42.99 With THE MOST TERRIBLE TIME OF MY LIFE, Kaizo Hayashi creates a witty, action-packed homage/spoof to French New Wave cinema, American film noir, and Japanese gangster films. Detective Maiku "Mike" Hama (Masatoshi Nagase) is used to dealing with the underworld, but he takes on more than he can handle when he meets a mah-jongg parlor waiter with a gang secret that could blow up the underworld. As Hama becomes further entwined with the waiter, he descends into a hell of gang wars, revenge, and deception that will forever change his life.
THE STAIRWAY TO THE DISTANT PAST once again stars Masatoshi Nagase as Private Detective Mike Hama, who, when the film begins, is practically homeless. Things change, however, with the arrival of Lilly, a beautiful and mysterious stripper whose true identity may hold the secret to Mike's past. Hayashi brings part two of his acclaimed series to life with vivid color and graphic violence captured in an ironic and highly stylized way.
Concluding director Kaizo Hayashi's Mike Hama Private Investigator Trilogy, THE TRAP opens with P.I. Mike Hama feeling that he's at the top of the world. It appears that the perennially troubled investigator finally has his romantic and work life in order when a visit from a mysterious messenger throws a dagger into his newfound happiness. In trying to decipher some meaning behind the messenger's cryptic orders, Hama unknowingly becomes the prime suspect in a long line of gruesome murders. As he falls deeper and deeper into Yokahama's criminal underbelly, Mike's prospects appear to ...

$17.89 A thoughtful science-fiction film that springs from the infamous DEFA studio, EOLOMEA was filmed just a few years after Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY captured cinemagoers imaginations. The title refers to a message received from space by citizens still on earth. As they puzzle over what "eolomea" could mean, eight space craft go missing and a vast space station breaks off all communication. Although the special effects are a little creaky, the search for the missing vessels makes for absorbing viewing, and encompasses a broad range of familiar sci-fi themes; fans of genre classics such as Tarkovsky's SOLARIS and Douglas Trumbull's SILENT RUNNING should find much to love here.
A mysterious message - "Eolomea" - is received on Earth ...
