Piles of Bananarama compilations were released from the late '80s through the early 2000s, and they represent the group's past with varying degrees of success, but this disc is the first to concentrate solely on the 12" mixes. Some of the tracks are making their first appearance on CD, so it certainly has some level of appeal to collectors. The highlights include the "Extended Club Mix" of "Venus," the "Extended Mix" of "Really Saying Something," and the "Number One Mix" of "Trick of the Night." Make no mistake: this is no substitute for a proper best-of disc, such as 1988's The Greatest Hits Collection or 2002's The Very Best of Bananarama. ~ Andy Kellman

For what it is, a collection of remixes by others, it is quite good. Some of them can get a bit tedious, and at times even repetative, but as I begin to recall and dust off those old 12" vinyls, that was the style back then, but I must admit that my tastes have apparently changed and I didn't find it quite as good as I'd hoped to. I'd say it was worth getting it if you're into Bananarama, although of a relatively low priority.

 A Knock Out
This is a must have for anyone that is,or was, a Bananarama fan. The remixes are wonderful and take me back to a time when life was much simpler. It goes to show you that great Dance music lives on.

A must-have for all!!!
Long time Bananarama fans would have been familiar with most of the mixes compiled in this album; except for tracks like Cruel Summer and Nathan Jones, which are given a slight different re-remix.
Fans will be happy to find some of the mixes being released on CD for the first time.
We look forward to a second or even more voulumes to come!

Bananarama's first album is by far their best. Before they fell in with the lucrative but often boring Stock, Aitken & Waterman assembly line starting with 1986's True Confessions, Siobhan Fahey, Sarah Dallin, and Keren Woodward were unashamedly poppy, but they had enough artistic credibility to create a debut album that, barring a couple of small missteps, actually works as an album instead of a collection of singles with some filler. (They were even hip enough for their first single to be produced by ex-Sex Pistol Paul Cook.) Of course, the singles are terrific. There are four British chart hits in these 11 songs, and every one of them still sounds terrific, where later hits like "I Can't Help ...

The gifted leader of the earliest incarnation of Pink Floyd, and the mastermind behind the peerless psychedelic pop of that group's PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN, Syd Barrett's playful, subtly deranged musical sensibilities inspired an entire generation of British songwriters. His brief but inspired solo career, and subsequent retreat into seclusion and obscurity, have only amplified his already considerable popular mystique.
WOULDN"T YOU MISS ME compiles 22 tracks from Barrett's two post-Floyd solo records for EMI as well as a handful of rarities from the outtakes collection OPEL. Though these spare, often chaotic compositions are a far cry from the tightly wound psych-pop of Floyd tracks like "See Emily Play," they are possessed of their own undeniable dark grandeur. Barrett completists will need this collection for its inclusion of the previously unreleased "Bob Dylan Blues."
