Anastasia - The Mystery Of Anna DVD
$6.55 Set during the Great Depression in Waxachie, Texas, director Robert Benton's hometown, PLACES IN THE HEART stars Sally Field as Edna Spalding. After her husband is accidentally shot and killed by a drunk, Edna, the mother of two, has no means of support, and the $240 mortgage on her 40 acres of property is in danger of imminent foreclosure. Frightened at first, the spunky woman vows never to sell the farm and contemplates the possibility of planting a cotton crop to raise the money, the only drawback being she has never planted cotton in her life. But fortune appears in the person of Moze (Danny Glover), an African American migrant laborer who knows all there is to know about growing cotton. In order to make ends meet, Edna also decides to take in the blind Mr. Will (John Malkovich) as a boarder. As she takes over financial affairs previously handled by her husband, the proud woman must weather the amused contempt of the town's businessmen, who fully expect to see her fail. Slowly, the oddly-assorted members of Edna's new ménage begin to form ties, which become a necessity when the local Klan chapter pays Moze a visit. Field heads an exceptional cast with a powerful yet restrained performance (which gave way to a famously unrestrained exhibition on Oscar ...

Anastasia - The Mystery Of Anna review
$13.15 Janet Jackson has had a wild ride in the quest toward diva-dom. Starting out with the dubious distinction of being Michael Jackson's kid sister; she startled the American music scene with a precocious start with CONTROL. Her happy, snappy, pop songs were apparently the right equation for an audience hungering for the ultimate in catchy songs. With each album, she advanced several notches in her journey to rule the R&B scene, and eventually surpassed the gloved one's influence. This collection of music videos from four Virgin albums, JANET, THE VELVET ROPE, ALL FOR YOU, and DAMITA JO, represents Ms. Jackson as a mature women in her prime. The smiley girl from next door is long gone, replaced by a remarkably sexy and impossibly cool player who knows she rules the universe and is ready for a sexual challenge. From the mellow, almost jazzy romance in "That's The Way Love Goes," to giddy love song "Together Again," and the hypnotic funk fest in "Go Deep," Jackson's dual mission in life seems to be to party and create passion of the most outrageous kind.
As usual, the other great strength of these videos are how they showcase Jackson's other main talent in dance. Like her brother, she has ...

Anastasia - The Mystery Of Anna film
$15.59 Spencer Tunick gathers dozen, hundreds, sometimes thousands of people, has them strip naked, and then photographs them. The resulting images work on macro and micro levels: one might view the nudes as a sea of color in the landscape, or look for the specific angles and details of an individual person. The images are, by turns, beautiful, funny, unsettling, and absurd. The world's only mass nude photographer, Tunick has captured the imagination of people across the world, and wherever he goes he finds hundreds of volunteers ready to model for his unique work.
In NAKED WORLD, the follow-up documentary to NAKED STATES, documentarian Arlene Donnelly follow Tunick as he sets off to photograph nudes--in numbers ranging from one to 4,500--on all seven continents. Tunick travels to Paris, St. Petersburg, Melbourne, Tokyo, Cape Town, and even Antarctica in his fascinating artistic adventure. Along the way, Donnelly investigates the psychological, political, and cultural forces that invariably revolve ...
