In this unforgettable debut film from Quentin Tarantino, a group of perfect strangers have been assembled to pull off the perfect heist. Meticulously planned, nothing can go wrong. But it turns into a bloody ambush when one of them turns out to be a police informer. As the group begins to question each other's guilt, the simmering tensions threaten to explode the situation before the police have a chance to step in. Boldly blending graphic violence with comedic references to popular culture, RESERVOIR DOGS ushered in an often-mimicked style of filmmaking in the 1990s.

Former video store clerk Quentin Tarantino's directorial debut, RESERVOIR DOGS, is a brutally funny, supercharged introduction to his supremely distinct cinematic vision, which was later to become one of the most mimicked styles of the 1990s. Mastermind Joe Cabot (Lawrence Tierney) assembles a crew of top-notch criminals to pull off a jewelry store heist. As the film opens it becomes immediately clear that the plan backfired, forcing the survivors, who have gathered at an abandoned warehouse, to figure out if one of them is, in fact, a police informer. The crew--Mr. White (Harvey Keitel), an aged veteran; Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), a wounded newcomer; Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen), a psychopathic parolee; Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), a bickering weasel; and Nice Guy Eddie (Chris Penn), Joe's son--begin to unravel as the pressure becomes too much for them to handle. When Joe arrives, the truth becomes clear in a vicious Mexican standoff. Tarantino takes liberally from Hong Kong action flicks, most notably Ringo Lam's CITY ON FIRE, but his ultra-hip ‘70s soundtrack and hysterical pop culture dialogue make the film seem wholly original and new. Taking a cue from the French New Wave--most notably Jean-Luc Godard--RESERVOIR DOGS remains one of the decade's most influential motion pictures.

Tarantino's film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, Park City, Utah, on January 21, 1992. It was released theatrically in October 1992. RESERVOIR DOGS is the directorial/writing debut for Quentin Tarantino, who also has a featured part in the film. The character names in the film are a tribute to THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE, TWO, THREE (1974), which also featured characters named after colors. James Woods was initially offered a role, but his agent dismissed the offer and didn't inform the actor until much later.

Reservoir Dogs Quotes/Excerpts:

"Someone's trying to stick a red-hot poker up our ass, and I'm trying to see whose name's on the handle!"--Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi) to fellow set-up thieves Mr. White (Harvey Keitel) and Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen)

5 stars Great movie
This is one of Quenton Tarentino's better films. I mean, this movie had a really good plot and it was enjoyable to watch. One thing that I always need in a movie is something to keep me interested. For example, The Godfather is a perfect movie, it had a perfect plot, perfect acting, perfect script and everything was delieverd perfect but it was a pain to watch just because it was so boring. It's just not my type of film. But this film kept me interested and wanting to watch more. I actually felt for some of the characters. Great movie. 5/5

4 stars AWESOME EXTRAS, NOT SO AWESOME DVD TRANSFER
I won't get into how good this movie is. If you haven't seen it,you must not care much for good movies.I would like to give a warning for those who are thinking of purchasing this DVD.Because of the extras this DVD is worth the money in my oppinion. But the DVD image itself is not so good. The 1997 DVD issue of this movie had lots of grain and dirt, but the colors were quite good, and blacks were good. However on this "special edition" there were no grain or dirt problems at all really, but the image is VERY bright.Colors are washed out and blacks are almost gray in alot of instances. The faces and skin of the actors are quite pale.I wish i knew why Artisan did this, because i know they can do much better,(T2).But the extras make up for the bad image. The Sundance workshop scenes alone are worth the price. The commentary is several interviews with Tarantino, select cast members, crew, and producers edited together. Not too bad. There is also an interesting commentary from three critics on select scenes. The interview segments are rather humorous, and informative. If your a big film fan,or film maker the class of 92 section, and the noir web features are very cool.If you are a big Tarantino fan,or a big film buff then i would say buy it.If your not sure then rent it first. If your not sure about my oppinion there are tons of reviews all over the net saying how bad the image is.Check em out.The movie is certainly 5 stars, but because of the bad image i only gave the DVD 4 stars.

After a great deal of discussion--on the part of fans and producers alike--over Daniel Craig's (THE MOTHER, MUNICH) suitability for the role of James Bond, he more than proves himself in this explosive revamping of the franchise. Under the direction of Martin Campbell (THE MASK OF ZORRO) and with Paul Haggis (CRASH) helping with the re-writes, this addition to the Bond canon manages to hold true to the essence of the stories--the villainous villains, the fabulous sets, the beautiful women, the fast-paced action--while updating the formula with subtlety and humanity. Trading in the Cold War era for a new, post-9-11 landscape, the tale unfolds in locations that span the globe, including the Bahamas, Venice, and the Czech Republic. It opens in Madagascar, where Bond pursues a guerilla bomb-maker in one of the most breathtaking chase scenes ever--and it all takes place on foot. Botching that assignment, Bond goes to Montenegro to square off against terrorist baddie Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelson), ...

Based on the first novel in Christopher Paolini's popular INHERITANCE trilogy, ERAGON is a fantastical adventure in a vein similar to that of the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA. A classic story of a quest driven by destiny and set in a land where elves, magicians, and humans live side by side, the battle between good and evil, innocence and cynicism, is taken up once again. John Malkovitch camps it up as the evil King Galbatorix, a former guardian of peace who long ago went over to the dark side. He now rules over a land from which dragons have all but disappeared, until humble farm boy Eragon (newcomer Edward Speelers) happens upon a mysterious blue object that turns out to be a dragon ...

Reservoir Dogs movie DVD
Blu-ray (Playable only on Blu-ray Players) $16.29
A gritty fairy tale of dreams deferred, HUSTLE & FLOW infuses the torpor of the Memphis ghetto with electric tension. Terrence Howard delivers the performance of a lifetime as DJay, a pimp and drug dealer eking out an existence with his three whores, one of whom, Shug (Taraji P. Henson, HOLLA), is hugely pregnant. Nola (Taryn Manning, 8 MILE) turns tricks from the backseat of DJay's beater, while Lexus (Paula Jai Parker, LOVE CHRONICLES), the hustler's high-maintenance girlfriend, strips in a cellar-like club. DJay's dissatisfaction is increasing as he senses that life has nothing more in store for him, but a chance encounter with an old school friend, Key (Anthony Anderson, KING'S RANSOM), reignites his musical aspirations. Key is a small-time recording artist, and DJay, armed with a notebook full of lyrics, pays him a visit at home, much to the displeasure of Key's ...
