Additional Footage; Soundtrack English The second part of a trilogy, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST is a fantastic tale of pirates, love, and the supernatural. Blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and his upper-class love Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) are preparing to wed when they are confronted with a warrant for their arrests because they helped the notorious pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) escape the authorities. Their only choice for a pardon is to find Jack and return to Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander) with the flamboyant captain's compass. Will's attempt to track Jack down, however, becomes an adventure unto itself: Jack is being held captive on an island where the natives think he is a god. To make matters worse, the infamous Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) and his Flying Dutchman crew are after Jack, seeking his soul to repay a debt. With his beard of tentacles and a lobster claw for a hand, heartless Jones is no mere mortal. He and his men are slowly evolving, taking on the attributes of various sea creatures, and with the help of a giant sea monster, the Kraken, they rule the waters.
Seeking respite from his fate with Davy Jones, Jack enlists the aid of Tia Dalma (Naomie Harris), a practitioner of the supernatural, in an effort to locate the Dead Man's Chest that supposedly contains Jones's still-beating heart. Whoever possesses the heart controls Jones, and thereby controls the seas. And so the adventure continues as Jack, Will, and the Black Pearl crew track down the Flying Dutchman in search of redemption. This rollicking summer adventure, directed by Gore Verbinski (THE WEATHER MAN, THE RING), features multiple intersecting storylines, unique stunts, and a pithy script that lets each main character shine, while the costumes and makeup for Jones and his sea creature crew are nothing short of spectacular. Theatrical Release: July 7, 2006 Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest Reviews: "Depp is mostly great here, too, playing for laughs, which he easily gets, but also hinting more than previously at a sinister, less whimsical side to Jack."-- Allan Jones, Sight and Sound "[An] unstoppable sequel....As Jones returns from the deep to claim his deadly debt, our plucky heroes try to avoid being sent to a watery grave."-- Chris Prince, Ultimate DVD "[The] two-and-a-half-hour extravaganza entangles the three protagonists' lives again and offers everything from a grand bar brawl to a three-way sword fight on a spinning wheel to the attack of a ship-swallowing Kraken."-- Premiere Staff, Premiere "Gore Verbinski, the director, has an appropriate sense of mischief, as well as a gift, nearly equaling those of Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg, for integrating CGI seamlessly into his cinematic compositions."
-- A. O. Scott, New York Times 3 stars out of 5 -- "[Depp's] Sparrow is even more engaging than he was three years ago..."
-- Jonathan Dean, Total Film 3 stars out of 4 -- "Johnny Depp is back in prime form as Capt. Jack Sparrow, the most subversive hero ever in a Disney movie....You can't take your eyes off him."

Hollywood keeps getting away with it and making big $$$. If the third in this sequel is a bust, I sure won't buy it. They also gave it a stupid "To be continued" ending to get you to bite on the third movie in this series. BEWARE! Submitted by Reedbigdogs (Black Creek, WI, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Big Dental Problems The absolutly gross pirates made me shut the disk off.

Awesome beyond belief Wow, Pirates was awesome. The cast was perfect, I loved the special effects and it was humorous every once in a while. What's so bad about it. And the ending is the BEST PART! Submitted by Gamesml (Wake Forest, NC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I can't believe all of these 2 out of 5 star ratings First of all there aren't even any other pirates movies out there. Second Johnny depp, orlando bloom and kiera knightly, need i say more. Third and finally, this is a movie so it requires some imagination, for you people that disect every single aspect of a movie i could understand why you didn't like it, you were to busy disecting it and couldn't find room to enjoy it. It was a great sequal and i'm looking forward to the third. Submitted by johnny (queens, ny) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$13.55 The Force is with us in EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH, the final chapter of the six-part STAR WARS series, which began a long time ago (1977) in a galaxy far, far away... and is now complete in its cyclical perfection. This visually awe-striking kaleidoscope of interplanetary imagination features the unmatched digital animation and special effects of George Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic. With pink and orange skies casting a golden sheen over magnificent landscapes through which space ships dart and light sabers flash, the spectacle of the film, while hypnotizing, is but a complement to the intense, crucial plot.

$8.35 Dan Brown's best-selling book THE DA VINCI CODE gets adapted for the big screen thanks to director Ron Howard (CINDERELLA MAN), who helms this big budget production. Veteran actor Tom Hanks stars as professor Robert Langdon, whose Parisian lecture tour on feminine symbolism gets disrupted when he's implicated in a murder at the Louvre. Co-starring with Hanks is Audrey Tautou (AMELIE), the French police analyst who comes to Langdon's aid and who may hold the key to some of the mysteries. The cast is fleshed out by Jean Reno as a hangdog French detective who thinks he can trick Langdon into a confession; Paul Bettany as Silas, the murderous monk; Alfred Molina as an evil Catholic cardinal; and Ian McKellen, who steals the movie in the second act as a crotchety old authority on the Holy Grail. During the course of the film, all sorts of riddles, keys, clues, and enigmas ...
