| | In Arkadia Release The Shadow CD In Arkadia Discography of CDs
In Arkadia, was born in january 2005 with the fusion of Lunarmony (Jocelyn, Theo) and Catalyst (Florent, Eddie and Seb). The band released the first demo named "Shadows In Vein" toward the end of march of that same year. Unfortunately, Eddie (the bass player) decided to leave the band right after the end of the recording of the demo. The band decided to look for a new bassist and Eduardo Meneses was the one chosen by the band. The band gets to work to write their first album and to play a few gigs. After listening to "Shadows In Vein" (their first demo), a producer was interested to sign a co-production contract with In Arkadia. After this, the band started to write songs for the album. After six months without any contract, In Arkadia decided to stop wasting their time and to produce their album themselves. Florent (the drummer) recorded the 12 songs of the album "Release The Shadow" in november 2005 at the AME studio in Villeurbanne, France. It took him 16 hours to record all the drum parts. Then, the band bought a good quality home studio to record the other parts of the album themselves. Seb and Théo recorded all the guitar parts (including the solos). Jocelyn started to record the voice part with "Stormkeeper" and "Delirium Tremens". Unfortunately for the band, Jocelyn decided to stop singing for the band because his job was taking most of his time. After a few weeks of hesitation, In Arkadia started to look for another singer. After a few unsuccessful tries, Seb forced Théo to sing with a death metal voice... The musical style of the band totally changed from the heavy metal they were originally playing with Jocelyn. Théo started to do the recording with his death metal voice while Seb was helping him with the writing of the lyrics. In Arkadia decided not to put the songs "Shadows In Vein" (from the first demo) and "Liars in Heaven" (wrote by Jocelyn) in "Release The Shadow". The recording of the album was finished in march 2006. The album was mastered by Mika Jussila at the Finnvox studio in Finland. In Arkadia is now looking for a distributor / producer to launch their first album. $12.79 This album is a sort of summit conference of underground heavy music. Guitarists and vocalists Scott "Wino" Weinrich (the Obsessed, Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan, the Hidden Hand) and Scott Kelly of Neurosis are grizzled veterans whose hoarse, guttural shouts and instantly recognizable, distorted guitar tones carry the authority of years of hard touring and introspective yet still crushing rock, while bassist Al Cisneros (Sleep, Om) and Melvins drummer Dale Crover shake the earth with their ...

Approaching Tool's LATERALUS with a casual ear would be a careless endeavor, to say the least. The sheer magnitude of the musical and emotional textures is as heady as it is primal. Standing out as one of the defining traits of the Tool sound is Justin Chancellor's hauntingly melodic bass playing, which often ...

Release The Shadow music CDs
$10.15 Heather Loewen & the Daily Special step outside the “Yukon sound” with an alternative pop/rock explosion in “All-Day Breakfast”, lyrical inspiration coming from conversations with friendly neighbourhood letter-carriers, Elmore Leonard novels and tarot-card readings.Originally from the beautiful resort town of Penticton, BC, Heather shifted to Vancouver for a 5-year hiatus before accidentally landing in Whitehorse, Yukon in 1997. With an honours diploma in business administration and international marketing, she had dreams of cushy corner offices and huge paychecks. While she did obtain the lofty title of “Marketing Director” for the Yukon Brewing Company, it just wasn’t the ticket.Heather’s secret aspiration to become a best-selling novelist somehow morphed into songwriting in 2001 after a year of unemployment, during which time she wrote 2/3 of three different books and took up painting. Finally, she turned to the songs in her head that were waiting to escape.Partially to blame for this unlikely shift in artistic vision was a group of fellow cabin dwellers including recording artists Kim Beggs, Kim Barlow, Anne-Louise Genest and Natalie Edelson. No matter how hard she tried, Heather couldn’t get excited about roots music, having listened to alternative rock, pop and punk her whole life. Although she did write some rootsy songs, and continues to do so now and then, a shocking identity crisis led her to record a demo with a rock band and to buy an electric guitar.Having made her stand as an alternative pop/rock songwriter and performer, Heather’s musical conspirators in Whitehorse are a group of twenty-something guys called “the Daily Special”.Ken Hermanson, crazy-ass guitar player, song-tweaker, sometime producer and Micah Smith, wicked bass driver, have been working with Heather since 2003. The Daily Special has included three drummers in three years: first, Patrick Singh; then Neil Byblow; now Daniel Dunphy, all of whom contributed their talents to the recording of “All-Day Breakfast”.“All-Day Breakfast” ...
