If anyone wants to know my life's story, I would have to tell them it's all centered around singing God's praises. Gospel music has been in my spirit since I was a 12 year old child. I sang in the young peoples' choir at my home church in Peoria, Ill. I used to be very nervous but I had a good "coach", the director of the choir, who encouraged me by saying, "just close your eyes and open your mouth and sing for Jesus." If it had not been for her encouragement, I probably would have never stepped forward.Then as I grew older, I went on to the young adult choir and used to be one of the lead singers. Eventually, I stepped forward as a soloist. I went from church to church as the Lord opened doors for me to solo. I wasn't as nervous but was rejoicing in every opportunity to lift up the name of Jesus.I organized a children's choir which I had to direct, teach and even play the piano. I was glad for the experience of that along with being assistant director of the young adult choir, as well. Years later, I also directed, taught, and accompanied a teenage choir in Missouri. It was a challenge but I was able, with the help of the Lord, to stand up against adversity.I've soloed in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, and here in Atlanta, Georgia. Several cities within those 4 states have opened doors for me.
