Imix Shish and Mike Mollura go way back. They used to rock it garage style in Exeter, PA in the alt-rock WDD (even making an appearance at May Day and Crestwood Pool). Keeping their collaboration alive over the years, the duo rocked bowling alleys, basements, fairgrounds and clubs in the Reading, PA punk/hardcore outfit the Afterglows. Proudly still playing songs they wrote in 1998, the duo formed Equals Conquest in 2005, when Mike was a retail assassin and Imix was drowning in legalese. Working in quick fashion (compared to now, anyhow), in 2006 the duo released Manifest Destiny, a collection of sonic soundscapes/ indie rock/pop/ electronic beats/ awesomeness, described by a listener as "the kind of music you can listen to again and again, and always discover something new."The duo is currently prepping their sophomore effort, an as yet untitled record which will feature 13-16 new songs. The new record is being done in the same fashion as "Manifest Destiny" - on the duo's own terms, on their own time, as equals, and with only themselves to please. Rumor has it that the new record is somewhat of a concept album, with a broader dynamic range than "Manifest Destiny." What does that mean? You'll have to stay tuned to find out... Manifest Destiny album
$11.35 NIGHT CASTLE appears just in time for the big 2009 holiday season but don't be fooled: this isn't a Christmas album, even if it's sonically indistinguishable from Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other seasonal releases, and the fact that it's been dubbed "Capra-esque" certainly brings it within the realm of the season. NIGHT CASTLE brims with all the drama, pomp, and circumstance of Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other records but channeling these traits through a newly created narrative does have the effect of hearing it in a somewhat new light, shifting the focus entirely to the band's attack, not melody. Still, there's not that much ...

Manifest Destiny CD music
$13.39 Pink Martini follow the around-the-world-in-a-dozen-songs thrills of HEY EUGENE! with SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS, a mellower, simpler set of small pleasures. These are relative terms, however; the group's music is still well-traveled, with China Forbes singing in five languages (English, Spanish, Neapolitan, French, and Italian) instead of the six or so on EUGENE!. However, Pink Martini opt for a more unified sound here, one that draws on the more straightforward lounge-pop of their debut, SYMPATHIQUE, and the mellowness of '60s and '70s pop. SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS' first half is especially smooth, opening with the beautifully soft Neapolitan ballad "Ninna Nanna" and the title track, on which Forbes sings "I think we should take it slow" over swooping strings, brass, and piano that resurrect the glory days of AM pop; that feeling is echoed by the cover of Joe Raposo's "Sing," the Sesame Street song ...

| | Scott Dawson Dedicated Man CD (2004)
Manifest Destiny album
$10.15 Since childhood Scott Dawson has dreamed of being a singer/songwriter. Music has always been the joy of Scott's heart and to be able to write and record his own material is the fulfillment of his deepest desires. Scott references Psalm 37:4, "Rejoice in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart." The title cut "Dedicated Man" is Scott's personal prayer to be the Godly husband and father he was called to be. To share his music with others is a dream that has finally become a reality. "Dedicated Man" is a collection of originals that speak of a songwriter committed to excellence. Scott strives to compose three minute masterpieces that keep the listener riveted to their stereo. As an anesthetist in Cincinnati, Ohio, Scott is as conscientious about his songwriting as he is about his profession. Major influences such as Paul McCartney, Burt Bacharach, Brian Wilson, Paul Overstreet, Alan Jackson and Buck Owens give this country album a unique blend of sophistication and twang. Songs that tell the stories of a boy and his dying grandma, a husband's prayer to be the man he promised to be, a spunky ultimatum from a desperate lover, and more truly original songs to make you smile and sing along. Last August, "Dedicated Man" was released to 14 European nations on the Comstock Records label. Scott was very excited to bring his music to Europe where many honest country music fans reside. His CD received generous airplay and even reached the top 20 most played lists in some countries. Scott extends a cheerful hello to all his European listeners and desires to hear their thoughts concerning his music. He is proud to be singing on their airwaves!!! Scott says: "I am humbled every time someone purchases my CD. Of all the great country music out there I am absolutely honored when someone chooses mine. Thank you also to all of the European DJ's who find my music worthy of addition to their very competitive playlists." "Recorded on Nashville's Music Row with the hottest session players in town, including Buddy Emmons (inventor of the pedal steel guitar), Byrd Burton, Craig Krampf and Bob Babbitt (of the famous Motown Funk Brothers). Of course, this production would not have been possible without the talents and abilities of accomplished Nashville producer Neal James (NealJames.com)with whom Scott ...

Manifest Destiny music CDs
$16.45 Music For Yoga, Contemporary Dance and other soul transformations. Spirit Dwelling, sonic architecture for the heart, mind and soul, is a gallery of deconstructed groove soundscapes that mix world percussion (udus, talking drums, rainsticks and the like), with treated guitars (lots of pitch-transposed parallel 4ths through delays, etc.) that bend lengthy modal melodies around drones and the occasionally very pure acoustic note. A holding place that invites contemplation or even 'no mind' peace, yet ...
