www.carolstein.comCarol was born in Miami, Florida in the U.S.A. where she began her classical piano studies at the age of four. She also studied the bassoon and the saxophone. Her travels as a musician have spanned the globe from Carnegie Hall, New York, to the Montreux Palace in Switzerland, The Oasis Lounge in Hong Kong, and Walt Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida, While attending university, Carol performed with the orchestras and jazz bands. Her experience as an accompanist led to numerous concerts with students and faculty members. She received her Masters Diploma from the University of Florida where she presented her thesis on “Special Dental Considerations for Musicians” to the music and dental departments of the university. Carol has been a member of many different musical groups including “Pat Johnson and the Reflections”, “The Prime Time Jazz Quartet”, “Rosie O’Grady’s World Famous Banjo Band”, the “Mickey Finn Orchestra”, and the “Carol Stein Quintet”. She has experience as a studio musician and has recorded four solo albums; “The Piano Bar” (featuring her own compositions), “Carol Stein Live” (traditional standards), “The Piano Lady” (elegant pianisitic ballads), and “The Jazz Lady” (swinging standards with her jazz quintet). Additionally, she recorded “Orlando Style” with the Rosie O’Grady’s Banjo Band. Carol enjoys composing and spontaneous arranging of pieces during a live performance. She may take a child’s melody and turn it “inside-out” in the style of Mozart, and then into a bossa nova, and end up with a Duke Ellington swing. She always likes to add a special touch to each piece she plays, which is one reason she enjoys singing and playing as a solo pianist. However, the challenge of performing with a group and the “magic” that occurs when musicians create a sound together is why Carol is always ready for a “Jam Session”. Carol performed as the resident musician for the incredibly talented improv troupe at The Comedy Warehouse on Pleasure Island at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida for many years. She is presently the resident pianist at The Rose and Crown Pub in the UK Pavilion in EPCOT at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Jazz Lady
$14.09 Detroit comprises a six-composition suite commissioned for the 2009 thirtieth anniversary Detroit International Jazz Festival, played in the studio with musicians from composer/arranger Gerald Wilson's Los Angeles home or New York City area. Curiously, there are no Motor City-based players on the disc, but the themes are based in certain locales from the industrial Midwestern City that has fallen on hard economic times but played a pivotal role in the development of Wilson's highly developed skills as a composer, arranger, and bandleader. A quite spirited and energetic music is heard here from the 90-year-old Wilson, whose charm and wit would rival anyone many decades his junior. It's a swinging affair molded in the traditional big-band visage of Count Basie, Ernie Wilkins, or early Quincy Jones, ...

| | Brian Bromberg It Is What It Is CD (2009)
Jazz Lady
$14.29 Brian Bromberg's fourth recording for the Artistry label, and first since they were acquired by the Mack Avenue label, is a fairly predictable program of contemporary jazz, commercial funk, and pop song covers, as well as uptown New York City R&B-type dance tunes that should appeal to the urban crowd. His prominent electric bass guitar always has a retro feel going back to Ralphe Armstrong, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Larry Graham, and James Jamerson, but retains a current-day feel that is still relevant, remaining skilled and precise as any bassist currently playing the amplified instrument. Many of these tracks include a horn section featuring Randy Brecker, Eric Marienthal, Gerald Albright, and Rick Braun, while keyboardists George Duke, Patrice Rushen, and Jeff Lorber join in here and there. While entertaining and even attractive from a ...

| | Shirley Eikhard Last Hurrah CD (2000)
Jazz Lady
$16.45 Shirley Eikhard's fifth album after a ten-year layoff is another gem-like compilation of her original material. There is nothing strained or stretched about what she writes. Each tune has its own distinctive characteristics and message not found in any of the others on this CD's play list. Eikhard writes about the stuff everyday life is made of: love, family, hopes, loneliness, irony, wins, and losses. But unlike most of what hits the stave paper these days, it's not self pitying or whiney ...

Jazz Lady
$9.59 Punk/Rock that goes to 11! Well be the first to admit that we tip our hat in many directions when it comes to our style. Our influences range from Hot Water Music and Samiam to The Ramones and Motorhead. The underlying theme in what we are all about is just straight up loud Rock and Roll and we make no bones about it. J.C. auto formed in mid 2001 in Ennis MT, which in case you’re wondering makes the middle of nowhere look like Metropolis. After religiously rehearsing 3 nights a week for 6 months (I mean, what else did we have to do?) we played our first gig in January 2002 and haven’t looked back since. For two years we played numerous gigs with numerous bands in numerous places across the state. Also came the release of the first EP, Life Goes Calling, and full length LP, Le Diable Probablement…and live album Safe and Sound (limited edition signed and numbered 100 copies). Then in 2004, co-founding guitar player, Tim, moved on. While he will always be a part of J.C. auto, we had to move on too. We played as a 3 piece for a year until finally finding the right feet to fit those shoes: and that was the addition of Ryan –former frontman of Brimmer. The combination of Ryan’s blistering guitars and enthusiasm on stage, Tracy’s rapid fire blur of arms (she hits harder than most boys out ...
