| | Love Camp 7 Vacation Village CD Love Camp 7 Discography of CDs
SPLENDID E-ZINE:Dann Baker and Love Camp 7 have made the rare record that pursues and thoroughly captures the spirit, if not the sound, of post–Pet Sounds Brian Wilson . . . their songs, like “Not Cool Enough for Daryl Genis’s Party,” fully capture the fragile, awkward moments of adolescence with honesty and love. If you're a big fan of the Beach Boys circa 1968–75, you'll love this. If you aren't acquainted with Love Camp 7, you'll see my footprints still fresh on that same sand. Follow them, and you'll find yourself in a record store, browsing through the section in which Love Camp 7's previous, highly acclaimed albums wait to be discovered. As the group provides one of the most interesting and genuine voices on the culture of adolescence—a subject few music lovers don't adore—it’s hard not to hear Vacation Village without making Love Camp 7 your latest semi-obscure musical obsession. I haven’t invested in their back catalog yet, but I have to assume from Vacation Village that previous reviewers have been correct, and that Love Camp 7 are one of America's most neglected treasures. Vacation Village CD music
$17.19 Taylor Swift abandons any pretense that she's a teen on her second album, FEARLESS--which isn't to say that she suddenly tarts herself up, running away from her youth in a manner that's all too familiar to many teen stars. Swift's maturation is deliberate and careful, styled after the crossover country-pop of Shania Twain and Faith Hill before they turned into divas. Despite the success ...

Vacation Village songs
$25.59 The late Keith Moon was a great drummer in one of the most important U.K. bands of all time, a prankster, and a lord of excess. Since the other members of The Who were doing various solo projects, Moon thought he'd throw his top hat into the ring. In an era of concept albums and arena-rock spectacle (1975), Keith Moon blew a raspberry at all of it. TWO SIDES is a tour through Moon's favorite styles and eras of pop, rock & roll and country, with too many guest stars to mention (though mention must be made of Rick Nelson, Dick Dale and the first all-female band to be signed to a major label, Fanny).
He sings a couple a Who classic ("The Kids Are Alright"), an early Beach Boys ballad ("Don't Worry Baby"), sings a country duet with Rick Nelson and covers his "Teenage Idol," and by and large has a wildly irreverent good time. Moon's not the best singer in rock history, but the party atmosphere and the dated everything-plus-the-kitchen-sink production of this album are most charming. TWO SIDES will appeal mainly to Who collectors and fans of early-1970s rock styles.
Keith Moon didn't have much of a singing voice, nor did he have much of an inclination to write music. He was a great noisy drummer, and his chaotic playing often made the Who sound unhinged. Based on the band's records, you might assume that Moon's lone solo album, Two Sides of the Moon, was a raucous rocker, but it's not -- it's the epitome of the superstar jam album. Much like a Ringo Starr record, Two Sides of the Moon features an untold number of superstar cameos -- including Ringo, Flo & Eddie, Harry Nilsson, Rick Nelson, Steve Cropper, Joe Walsh, John Sebastian and Dick Dale -- who are all there to jam on oldies and lame, underdeveloped originals. It's overproduced and overblown, and since Moon has a thin, tuneless, nasal voice, he doesn't have the charisma to make the whole affair entertaining. In
Stunning digitally remastered two CD reissue of this 1975 solo album from the maniacal drummer for The Who. Disc One features the album's original 10 tracks with an additional 15 tracks of out-takes, alternate mixes, single mixes and more. Disc Two features 24 more alternate takes, demos, studio sessions, etc. featuring musical support from Ringo Starr, John Sebastian, Joe Walsh, Harry Nilsson and ...

$6.69 This whole idea of making a soundtrack to a book is the most unique thing I think I’ve ever done and I am very proud of the direction that it has lead me. I met Cindy Callinsky on Myspace several months back through another musician and immediately took interest in what she was doing. I happened upon some of her blogs on Myspace and realized that she was posting parts of her book, “Rear View Mirror”. I immediately started reading and was intrigued to say the least. Unfortunately, my attention span for staring at a computer screen is very short. So, Cindy offered to email the entire book to me. This way I could print it out and read it in time. As I read on and on, Cindy again offered to send me a paperback copy of the book for me to hold in my hands and treasure with my eyes. I was delighted to get the real product. I read the true stories of love lost, both through family and through relationships and felt connected in many ways. There are so many stories of music and true life passion that there is no way that I couldn’t relate. I could hear the music as I read the pages. I was so inspired that I started telling everybody about Cindy and Rear View Mirror and got others hooked. I soon realized that I should write a song that would serve as the title track to the book. At first it was a far off thought. Because, Im not sure if this kind of thing has ever been done. I know there are title tracks to movies. But, a book? While working on this song, Cindy had asked me if I wanted to do a blurb or write-up to put inside the new presses of Rear View Mirror. Now, Im very bad when put on the spot and started procrastinating. Well, as soon as I started thinking of what to write, one of my songs, “And The Music Played” kept on playing in my head. So, I sent the lyrics to Cindy and she agreed that the song fit perfectly with Rear View Mirror. This really started the ball rolling. I finished up my version of Rear View Mirror and realized that I had many songs written from my past that seemed to fit perfectly with the book. What a coincidence, huh? No such thing. Cindy and I had gotten together and recorded these songs on her video ...
