'SUNNY SUNDAY AFTERNOON' is Sally's debut CD, with songs in a wide range of styles and subject matter. Musicians featured on the CD include Craig Bidondo, keyboard; Dave Captein, upright bass: Graham Lear, drums; Victor Sharpe, saxophone; Tim Ellis, guitar and Brent Rogers, guitar. It was mixed and mastered by Dean Baskerville at Dead Aunt Thelma's studio in Portland, OR.

This unique all acoustic jazz cd features 67:30 of modern music based on artwork and includes an eight page art booklet. The music is based on these different art worksFranz Kline, 'Orange Outline', Hans Hofmann, 'Scintillating Blue', Leonard Baskin, 'The Old Artist', Frank Stella, 'Raqqu II', R. Ziesk, 'Syphoned and Jonesing', Alfred Maurer, 'Abstract Heads', Romare Bearden, 'Carolina Shout', and Stuart Davis, 'For Internal Use Only'. These paintings and sculpture are in museums and private collections in the southeast including the North Carolina Museum of Art, The Hunter Art Museum and The Reynolda House Museum of American Art.

The cd art booklet is 8 pages with a color print of each artwork on it's own page. Artist quotes are included. The music was recorded direct to two track with no edits.

The recording quality and musicianship are at a very high level. This music and concept are an attempt at an avant-garde. The music is Matt Kendrick Jazz. He takes the Jazz continuum and reflects it through his own prism. The art is primary in the direction of each piece. A brave and bold attempt at an avant-garde concept; not the stylistic implications that exist on this very misused word in Jazz.
