"BEYOND THE VOICE OF REASON" NEW RECORD COMING AUGUST 2006 ON FREQUENCY DELETED RECORDS!!! ------------------Anartha was formed in the summer of 2005 when Brendan Quinn (former vocalist of Gandiva and the Hype) and Theo Aronson (former bass player from Catchthirteen, Crash Davis and the Hype), decided to start a band that would bring them back to the roots of their punk and hardcore influences. Soon Jeff Post, who had played drums in Noah's Dove and the Hype joined the lineup bringing guitarist Shane Brennan (Ghoststory and Noah's dove ) with him. Rounding out the lineup was bass player Brett Valego, former member of All I Can and the K.O.S.T. Anartha is a 5 piece hardcore project with influences that include Gorilla Biscuits, 108, Shelter, Sick of it All and Minor Threat. Each member has been involved in the Western Mass hardcore and metal scene since the late 80's and 90's, each playing in various bands and going to local shows. Their strong ties to this era enabled this group to produce a style of hardcore seldomly heard these days. If you are looking for a band that fits the cookie-cutter mold of today's MTV generation "hardcore"....this is not for you. Since the release of their 5 song demo (recorded at Dead Air studios in Amherst, MA), Anartha has begun playing shows in the western Massachusetts area. Recently, the band joined forces with Frequency Deleted Records, a new independent label rising up in the Pioneer Valley. Recording for the band's upcoming 6 song CD was recently completed at Underground Productions Recording Studio in Seymour, CT. Be on the lookout for the release of "Beyond the Voice of Reason" this August on Frequency Deleted Records. Please contact us for info on booking shows or anything else. While their labelmates, Hands On, seem to be on a more political bent, Anartha aims right for the soul and spirit of the human species itself. Combining hard hitting post-punk hardcore with pounding tribal drums, and the high pitched screaming about the psychology of civilization, Anartha has infinitely more depth and wisdom than your garden variety punk-core band, not to mention some enormous musical weight and talent. I am sure seeing this band live will induce some jaw-dropping shock and awe." Beyond The Voice Of Reason
$12.55 On 2008's THE FOUNDATION, singer/guitarist Zac Brown leads his ensemble on a vibrant set of country-rock. While the Georgia-based performer is clearly comfortable with ballads (see his emotive cover of Ray LaMontagne's "Jolene"), he seems most at home on twangy, carefree tracks such as "Toes," "Chicken Fried," and "Sic `Em on a Chicken." Now that Jimmy Buffett has tried repositioning himself as a country artist by cutting duets with the likes of Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney and Clint Black, it should come as no surprise that the Parrothead influence has begun making its way into Nashville, and the first major-label effort from Zac Brown features not one but two ...

Beyond The Voice Of Reason
$14.54 Rush is no stranger to best-of compilation albums, they've released a slew of them. They are also no stranger to DVDs. To mark their 35th anniversary, they've released Working Men, which is both; it marks their first best-of live compilation exclusively from the DVD sets Rush in Rio (2003), R30 (2005), and Snakes & Arrows Live (2008). There is also an unreleased cut from R30 -- a killer version of One Little Victory. While fans may simply regard this as a record company cash grab, hardcore fans know how closely Rush monitors each release and controls all aspects of their career. On hearing ...

Beyond The Voice Of Reason
$11.15 Trying to be Cool has received airplay at over 150 stations in the US and abroad, and has sold over 1,000 copies."Echoing the Paul McCartney video to 'Coming Up,' Jeff Miller is pictured playing every instrument but drums inside the CD booklet to his debut effort, 'Trying to Be Cool.'And like McCartney, the songwriter actually played those instruments -- and more, including violin -- on the record, accompanied only by the drummer from his high school trio, Jimmy Cramer, who also co-produced the record in his studio."-Ed Masley, Pittsburgh Post-GazetteJeff has been playing music for almost as long as he can remember. Starting with the violin at age 5, he has picked up many instruments and styles along the way. He concentrated mainly on violin and trombone, and classical and jazz music until his freshman year of high school.During the summer before his freshman year of high school, Jeff made the decision to sell all his video games and buy his first guitar. Soon after, the guitar became his primary instrument, and Jeff fell in love with songwriting. The seeds of songwriting were sown during Jeff's ...

Beyond The Voice Of Reason
$14.79 My mother, Heaven Williams (aka Heaven Hill), rest her soul, was a distiller's daughter and a tea-totaler all her life. She met my father, a rounder, a drifter, a "good client..." in the burlesque house she managed in Memphis. She named me Purgatory because it was, she said, "the closest thing to Heaven I could find" and handed down the name Hill (her stripper name) because, according to her, Williams (her maiden name) is "one of the names the devil goes by." (More details of my life will become available as they're created)Since becoming infatuated with delta blues at age fifteen, I've always wanted a blues persona. I never thought the name "pat mAcdonald" was cool, even with the capital A. Chester Burnett might have felt the same about his name ...
