Stacy James Mayo is a 27 year old woman who is living la vida loca... in a good way! From the start of her career as a young girl only 15 years of age, Stacy has managed to convince critics, judges, families, and friends from all over the nation, that she has it all. As a little girl dressing up and using a candle as her microphone to perform for her loving family, Stacy proved at an early age that she was a born performer, destined for her place on the stage. Her fame as a vocalist and dancer began when the opportunity arose for her to perform a lead role in her middle school's singing group, "Pride." Replacing a girl at the last minute who took ill, Stacy astonished the audience with her powerful, pure voice. The choir director, Julie Sheppard, summed up the event saying, "When Stacy opened her mouth and starting singing, the entire room went quiet and still. No one could believe that voice was coming out of that little body!" Stacy then began to sing all over the Ark-La-Tex area performing at everything from charity events, community gatherings, to churches and clubs. Stacy's next successful platform was in the pageants. She took her talent, determination, and confidence to the competitions at her young age of 15 years, and after winning Miss Texas High School 1997, went on to win the title of Miss Texas in 2001, and finally, finished as a semi-finalist in the Miss America Contest. She has since made over 375 appearances and performances as Miss Texas, and sang at such prestigious events as the 2002 Cotton Bowl, 2001 Texas Rangers Game, 2002 Houston Astros Game, and several NASCAR events in Ft. Worth, Texas. Stacy James has also established herself as not only a talented individual that commands the stage and the audience, but also as a down-to-earth, truly inspiring individual, whose influence touches all races, ages, and creeds. Stacy has dedicated her life to charity-work, specifically to the Alzheimer's Association of Texarkana, Texas, whose chapter Stacy's grandfather started. She has completed five cover CD's, and has put on several Dinner Theaters and assisted numerous Golf Tournaments, through which all the proceeds raised from her performances and entertainment were donated to the Alzheimer's Association. With these efforts, Stacy has raised over $20,000 for Alzheimer's. Hitting the studio in 2003, Stacy James teamed up with S.M.A.R.T. Productions and producer Greg White, and began working on her first original album, "Gravity." She surrounded herself with the best musicians and songwriters of the Four States area, and the finished result is truly astonishing. The album features a mixture of emotions and creative textures derived from such influences as Sheryl Crow and Norah Jones, topped off with Stacy's unique, earthy, raw, powerful voice cutting through the music to the mind and soul of each and every listener. With the completion of "Gravity", Stacy added another chapter to her inspiring career. Currenlty, Stacy has been working on what is near and dear to her heart. Her second album, entitled "This Side of Heaven" is a Christian CD that she thinks is her best yet. "These songs are contemporary, worshipful and traditional. I love all types of Christian music and wanted to have a variety of songs so that everyone, young or old could worship Christ!" The CD has songs written by Benjamin Gaither, Lowell Alexander, Chip Bricker, Stacy and several other talented songwriters from the Nashville area. This Side Of Heaven CD music
$13.69 On the surface, Lifeline, Iris Dement's return to recording after an eight-year hiatus, is a collection of age-old gospel and church tunes from the 19th century -- or earlier -- in the grand Protestant tradition. He liner notes tell a different story. She recounts how her mother played and sang these songs in times of stress looking straight at the sky, "as if she were talking to someone." She claims that for her, too, the music contained here became her lifeline through a season of hardship, and that when calling her mother from the road in difficult straits, she was told to get to a piano. Dement's raw, high lonesome voice is as out of time as the material, though these presentations are not exactly rough-hewn. They are plaintive but polished with accompaniment from a host of players, including Bo Ramsey, Mark Howard, Stu Basore, ...

Piano didn't stick with me for more than just a few months, but something about the guitar caught my interest. At fifteen years old (six years ago) I sang at an evangelistic meeting and, to my surprise, everyone liked it! The team who was hosting the meetings invited me to join them in Atlanta, Georgia, for their next series. You might have seen the meetings on 3ABN's "On The Road" with David Asscherick. I performed only a little in public prior to that time but continued to become more and more comfortable with it until today when I feel almost completely comfortable up front. This is a big step for me since, for most of my life, I have been quite shy. God will certainly bless us with more than just talents-He will give us the boldness to share them with others.A month after returning home from Atlanta, I left again for South Dakota and Black Hills Mission College, which specializes in teaching Bible Work and Evangelism. Some of the proceeds from this CD will go to ...
