| | Happy Feet Soundtrack CD (1 Customer Review)
Released in 2006, HAPPY FEET is a charming animated film that follows the adventures of a tap-dancing penguin in Antarctica. In addition to songs by the Brand New Heavies (the funky, dancehall-rooted "Jump and Move") and other established artists, the soundtrack presents musical numbers performed by actors who lend their voices to the movie, including Brittany Murphy, who offers up a R&B-tinged version of Queen's "Somebody to Love." The soundtrack to Happy Feet, the animated penguin fantasia musical directed by George Miller -- the man behind such acclaimed films as Babe, Babe: Pig in the City, and Mad Max -- is a loose and lively mix of '70s funk and modern club-oriented R&B. Borrowing from the template popularized by Shrek, the soundtrack features both new cuts and old songs, with some tracks covered by actors in the film. To this end, listeners get Brittany Murphy singing both Queen's "Somebody to Love" and the disco classic "Boogie Wonderland" as well as Pink reworking Stevie Wonder's "Tell Me Something Good" with pleasing results. Interestingly, Happy Feet also includes some attempts at the über-hip DJ trend of mashups -- two songs played at the same time -- with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman doing Prince's "Kiss" and Elvis' "Heartbreak Hotel" and Jason Mraz and Chrissie Hynde on Steve Miller's "The Joker" and David Gates' "Everything I Own." While these are technically more like two-song medleys than actual mashups and are somewhat awkward musically, they are nonetheless unexpected shots of cultural Zeitgeist and a welcome break from the standard soundtrack cover tunes. Throw in an original track from Prince as well as the big-band swing-meets-glam rock-meets-contemporary R&B of Gia Farrell's "Hit Me Up," and Happy Feet delivers no less than a computer-animated Moulin Rouge. ~ Matt Collar Happy Feet Soundtrack Music Happy Feet Soundtrack Songs | 1. | Song of the Heart |

While ANTHOLOGY provides a comprehensive overview of Bryan Adams's career and SO FAR SO GOOD anthologizes his early hits, THE BEST OF ME shows the Canadian pop-rocker's staying power by focusing on his finest work from the '90s onward. There are a couple of older tracks (rockers "Summer of '69" and "Run to You") thrown in for good measure, but the spotlight here is on Adams the balladeer, belting out lighter-waving, larger-than-life ...

$7.15 Created approximately in January 2002, with a primordial and simple interest to explore music tendencies in a natural way. Tendencies that go from perceptible to surreal and adapt to an individual communion of cause. That's how MOCHUELO was born.In just a short time this simple idea evolved from the demands of a band with serious interest of rasing a fresh mature sound and laterally project its limitless music. The band began with Eduardo Soto (Drums), Hector Alvarado (Guitar), Alejandro Yanez (Bass), Alcides Goncalves (Guitar) and Mariana Rengifo (Voice). With this resulting crew, the band began to work on creating music under algorithms of simplicity by means of the use of electonic and psicodelic shades and tendencies as Indie, Soul, Trip - Hop, Funk and Pop which became the main ingredients on its music recipe.MOCHUELO basically represents the dual relationship between two topics; Music and attitude; adhered all the time to obey the natural ...
