2006 digitally remastered edition of Watson's 1987 album that was produced by Glyn Johns in Los Angeles. Among the musicians playing on the recording were Bernie Leadon (the Eagles), Jerry Donahue (Fairport Convention), Steve Lukather (Toto), Paul Barrere, Bill Payne and Richie Hayward (Little Feat). The sessions were the first time the musicians from Little Feat had recorded together since Lowell George's death in 1979. The goal of Leona Lewis' 2007 debut, Spirit, was to prove that an X Factor winner could be a phenomenon not just in the U.K., but in the rest of the world. The goal of her second album, 2009's Echo, is to prove that success was no fluke, to build upon "Bleeding Love" and turn Lewis into an actual diva. Certainly, Echo in any of its incarnations -- its song listings are tailored for individual markets, with the U.K. getting a cover of Oasis' "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," while the U.S. gets a second song co-written by Justin Timberlake -- uses the chilly, synthesized "Bleeding Love" as its foundation, creating a sheet of sound equal parts Euro-pop and modern American R&B. Recently returned from Oahu's Kailua Beach, the members of Wailing Dog are just beginning to make a name for themselves. After leaving the Aloha State early last year, their debut was released in March of 2007 on their own South Paradise Records and its follow up was released in December. As an alternative pop-rock duo, Wailing Dog I combines beach-worn acoustic guitars with fluid cello, piano and vocals to create a fresh yet familiar sound that doesn’t let go.
