| | Derailers Retrospective: Just One More Time CD Derailers Discography of CDs
Unabashedly retro, Austin-bred quartet the Derailers blend classic honky tonk with roots rock & roll in a way that's difficult to resist (and why would anyone want to?). RETROSPECTIVE: JUST ONE MORE TIME spans the band's output from 1995 through 2003, including mostly original material and a few oddball covers. While there is a certain contemporary sheen to the Derailers' sound--the band would be just as at home in a hipster bar in Brooklyn as they would in a Bakersfield saloon--they are never too cheeky, and their fun, rollicking music hits the pleasure button every time. At 17 tracks, RETROSPECTIVE is a generous, nicely assembled introduction to these Buck Owens-loving rockers.

Retrospective: Just One More Time
$14.49 Lyrics translated from the Spanish by Guillermo Hernandaz, Yolanda Zepeda and Jaime Nicolopulos.
Following on from his father Santiago Jimenez' own successful run as a conjunto musician in San Antonio, Flaco Jimenez put together a conjunto of his own in the '50s, eventually becoming one of the most famous figures in Tex-Mex music (also known as Musica Nortena in Mexico). Based on the polkas and waltzes Mexican performers refashioned as rancheras, the Tex-Mex conjunto style features accordion, the 12-string bajo sexto guitar, bass, and drums. Flaco immediately staked his claim in the music with a distinctly imaginative and lively accordion style, finding ...

Retrospective: Just One More Time
$10.69 Brothers Phil and Dave Alvin were the heart of California roots-rockers the Blasters. After songwriter/guitarist Dave's departure for a solo career, Phil kept the group alive, but mostly on a local performance level, not as a recording unit. He released his first solo album in 1986, but it took him eight years to make another.
Like its predecessor, COUNTY FAIR finds Phil Alvin backed by a shifting ...
