BETWEEN FRIENDS is the fourth release from urban contemporary singer Tamia, and is packed to the gills with displays of the artist's spectacular, elastic vocal talent. With production help from Shep Crawford and Rodney Jerkins, BETWEEN FRIENDS offers up a range of tracks, including bouncy club numbers, sensual love songs, and mainstream pop and R&B. But while the music sounds great, it is Tamia's instrument that takes center stage throughout. The lead-off single, "Can't Get Enough," a pulsing slow jam, demonstrates her ability to be breathy and completely authoritative, whereas tracks like "Happy" show her voice at full throttle. It's no wonder Tamia has four Grammy nominations and two gold albums under her belt. BETWEEN FRIENDS promises to be another feather in the singer's cap.

I have all four of tamia cd this is my favorite out of all of them. she does not get the recognition that she deserves but if you are a tamia fan or a lover of good r&b music this is a must have in your collection from the beginning to the end.

RANDOM PLAY
This is the best Tamia ever! I don't think she gets the credit she deserves! This is a cd that you can press random play and any song that places you will love, and relate it to your life somehow...oh, you must press repeat all for continuous play...it's that excellent!

Canadian chanteuse Tamia got a taste for the spotlight in her early teens, singing for Quincy Jones on his 1995 album Q'S JOOK JOINT, so it's no surprise that her third album, MORE, finds the vocalist refined and at top form nearly a decade later. Tamia's greatest strength is her understatement; she knows how to convey power during a song without resorting to overstated vocal acrobatics. Even when she bounds over three or more octaves in a single phrase, as on the alluring and sensual title track, she does so with a subtle agility.
Tamia also shows an equal skill with pop ballads and dance numbers. MORE opens with the bouncy, imperious "On My Way," which glides into the aforementioned title track before drifting into a collection of the sweetest of ballads, including the mournful, gentle guitar-pop of "Officially Missing You" and the insistent "Still." Fabolous drapes a gritty rap over the soft touch of "I'm Yours," while Gerald Levert joins her to dip "(They Long to Be) Close to You" in molasses and somehow discover a new angle on the well-covered tune. A posthumous release for the oversize Puerto Rican rapper, ENDANGERED SPECIES is a collection of classics, unreleased material, and rarities that includes his breakthrough hit, "You Ain't a Killer" as well as other cuts from his first two albums. Pun's rapping talents are never overshadowed, even with guest artists the likes of Ricky Martin, the Beatnuts, Cuban Link, and Brandy. This 36-track compilation has studio and live tracks, including Whitesnake hits "Here I Go Again," "Fool for Your Loving," "Is This Love," and "Still of the Night."
It's hard to believe Whitesnake had been around for 25 years, but it's true and they've got the double-CD release to prove it. And not only is 25 Year Anthology a tribute to the longevity to the band; more importantly, it's a tribute to the voice behind the band, David Coverdale. Starting from their first big hit, "Fool for Your Loving" (the non-Steve Vai version), and going all the way through to their other biggest hit, "Still of the Night" (on the classic 1987 eponymous release), the group covers every angle of Coverdale's career.
