| | Toby Keith American Ride CD (2009)
Drew CD music
$13.09 With most contemporary country artists, you could guarantee that a song called "American Ride" would be a slice of jingoism, but Toby Keith isn't like most country singers. His "American Ride" casts a cynical eye at desperate housewives and wannabe pop stars, not celebrating down-home values but wondering where we're all headed on this American Ride at the end of the 2000s, a sentiment not all that far removed from some of Keith's previous social commentary, which makes it a mild surprise that it is the only song here that doesn't come from his own pen. As superb and striking as it is, it's not necessarily a good keystone for the rest of the record, which does have a few tougher numbers that pick up on the lean, mean vibe of 2008's THAT DON'T MAKE ME A BAD GUY -- "Every Dog Has Its Day," the sly "If I Had One," and the heavy blues stomp "Loaded" -- but spends more time on the softer side, even when he kicks up a bit of dust on the dancefloor on "You Can't Read My Mind" or does a funny, respectful salute to military life on "Ballad of Balad." In other words, the real touchstone for the rest of the record is "Tender as I Wanna Be," ...

| | Jimmy Wayne Sara Smile CD (2009)
Drew album
$10.38 Jimmy Wayne is no fool. While the five-year break between his 2003 debut and 2008's Do You Believe Me Now? was precipitated by one label going out of business and his contract being transferred to another -- given the fickle nature of radio programmers and audiences seeking the next big thing, it was a minor miracle that the title single hit the number one spot on Billboard's country chart. He knew not to tempt fate a second time. Wayne wasted no time; he toured hard to support it, and then jumped right back into the studio to record Sara Smile. The album is named after ...

| | Cetacea EP CD (2005)
Drew songs
$9.35 Cetacea hails from Brooklyn, N.Y., blending various influences to create an inspiring new sound in modern music. A sound that has been described as both "epic" and "enchanting." Noticeable influences include U2, Radiohead, and Pink Floyd, but the band is influenced by many different kinds of music including Rock, Classical, Ambient, and Drum 'n' Bass. A frenetic rhythm section pounds and pulses under ethereal guitars, strings, and keys, all while uplifting, melodic vocals soar in and above the swells of the music. Their songs deal with the human emotions spurred by living in a turbulent and changing world, while trying to keep hope and passion alive. The lyrics explore the connection and disconnection from the cycles of nature, as well as within the human body itself. The soul, talent, and passion of this band are undeniable. They recently released their first recording of original material, an EP entitled, "CETACEA." Cetacea consists of four members from diverse and distinct ...

| | Michael Krejci Out Of The Blue CD (2007)
Drew CD music
$18.99 “Lyrically driven and melodically focused,” Michael Krejci is a singer-songwriter on the rise. He writes about the simplicity of the rain and the complexity of love, intricately woven together to reflect his small town Indiana upbringing. Michael’s introspective songs and raw vocals have been compared to the likes of Bruce Robison, Radney Foster and Gordon Lightfoot. As a versatile songwriter, he writes from the heart, not to satisfy a specific genre, but to satisfy those who take his music for what it is, honest and genuine.Since relocating to Nashville in the summer of 2002, Michael has been writing vigorously and his critically acclaimed debut album, "Out of the Blue" (released January 2007) speaks for itself. A blend of country, folk, bluegrass and roots styles, Out of the Blue is a tasteful mix of tunes that transcends genres, complementing Michael’s open minded musical spirit. Such mass appeal is evident by the diverse cast of musicians chosen to contribute to the project, including guest appearances by guitar slinger, Eric Heatherly, as well as The Stringdusters’ Jeremy Garrett and Andy Hall, among others. Ten of the eleven tracks are original tunes and there is something for everyone on Out of the Blue . . . it is a “melodic adventure that sifts its way through the ups and downs of everyday life, a soothing and refreshing collection of songs.” It is no wonder that Disc Makers, the nation's leading CD/DVD duplication company, chose the project to be featured on the cover of their June catalog, reaching millions of consumers and music fans alike! Some of Michael’s career highlights thus far include opening for acoustic sensation, Lucy Kaplansky, bluegrass acts Special Consensus and Bottomline, performing at Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café, the prestigious Americana Folk Festival(Patty Griffin/Mindy Smith), and recording with an array of top musicians who play with the likes of George Strait, Lee Ann Womack, Keith Anderson, Julie Roberts, Pam Tillis and Patty Loveless. In addition to performing in Nashville, Michael plays regularly throughout the country to an ever-widening fan base. Whether you're listening to him perform solo-acoustic or with a band, you can't help but sit back, tap your foot, and get lost in the music.Reviews:"Out Of The Blue, Michael Krejci's new independent CD is, among other things, a visual delight. The record jacket's beautiful moody photographs are artistically done and set the perfect tone for the artists emotional and melancholy songs. The cover itself shows an introspective Krejci, and has such a "feel" to it, that I was hopeful the music would be just as good. And it is. The first track serves as an introduction into the simple, but lyrically sensitive world of this understated but unique ...
| | Thad Foster Tailgate Romance CD (2007)

$9.85 Thad Foster grew up near a hot little desert town near an Indian Reservation in Arizona. A line from one of his songs says " Moved to the city in my youth, never looked back, never knew I missed it. But now I'm a man and I long to go back, take me back to those towns with their big Oak Trees, Take me back to the good ole country!" He ...
| | Kenan Boyle CD (2007)
Drew songs
$8.39 Kenan Boyle was eleven when he stumbled upon his future. It was 1987, ten years after Elvis died, when a picture of the legend caught the Northern California fifth-grader’s eye. But musical tastes evolve, and boys eventually come of age with their own, internal compass. Plinking on the baby-grand piano at home and then picking up a guitar, soon music by the likes of Rodney Crowell, George Ducas, Dwight Yoakam, Waylon Jennings and Chris Isaak were guiding, if not pulling, Boyle to his personal magnetic north. Since 2003, home for Boyle has been Nashville, where he knew he had to scuffle and take his lumps and triumphs if he were to fully ...
