Real Space Noise reunites Ichor and Laboratory X members Chad Blinman (programming/voices) and Steve Ashburn (keyboards/guitars).As with their previous projects, the directive of Real Space Noise is to create a complex architecture of pop-oriented songwriting, synthesizer-and-guitar-driven instrumentation, insightful lyrics, and certain characteristics of retro-styled space rock.The result evokes aspects of modern rock and electronica, 70s/80s "new wave" and "no wave" musics, and vintage science fiction soundtracks. These elements, combined with Ashburn and Blinman's peculiar writing and arranging style, fuse into something strangely familiar - yet difficult to categorize.Blinman, a studio veteran whose production and engineering credits range from Face to Face, The Get Up Kids, Viva Death and Senses Fail, to Faith and the Muse and German industrial giant Das Ich, to the programming/production collective The Legion of Doom (whose mashups and remixes are the stuff of internet legend), brings his unusual recording style to all of Real Space Noise's output.The first full-length release from Real Space Noise is the album Radio Method, produced by Blinman and Ashburn at The Eye Socket (Blinman's Venice, California recording facility and the central laboratory of Real Space Noise). Independent label Functional Equivalent Recordings will be releasing the album in Q3 2006.Themes of man's relationship with technology, reason and faith, and the broken promise of the future run throughout Radio Method, forming a densely detailed sonic landsapce that is at times stark and chilling, then a towering wall of angular, layered sound.Moving beyond the self-contained, some songs on Radio Method feature guest vocal performances by Trever Keith and Scott Shiflett (Face to Face, Viva Death). Keith also collaborated on the song "Are You Uncomfortable?" writing the lyrics as well as performing them.In addition to audio releases, Real Space Noise is exploring the world of video imagery: their self-directed video "The Monkey Gear" is available for download at realspacenoise.com, and future video releases are in the works. The Official Bio As she stands poised to be the next great thing in rap, Renaissance, the new voice of the voiceless, makes what she does look effortless as she stylishly displays a side of hip hop seldom heard in other artists. Renaissance has mastered a unique flow that is reflective of the influence of her Brooklyn/South Carolina roots, her combination of book smarts and street knowledge, and that forever prevalent women's intuition that always takes precedence over anybody's Ph.D. Being an 80s baby, that made Renaissance a child of hip hop, and its influence in her life was strong. At 9, she was singing in the school choir, and by 12 she was writing rhymes and rapping to Sugar Hill Gang instrumentals. It was in high school that she adopted her stage moniker. After studying the time period in history class, she realized she had much in common with many of its great artists by showing talent for various forms of expression. In college she began producing herself because she couldn't find any good beats. After graduating, she bought studio equipment and began writing, producing and recording her debut album, Life's Soundtrack. Life's Soundtrack is loosely based on a tumultuous 5 year love affair and a subsequent 1 month fling that left Renaissance not only heart broken but immensely inspired. The album's first single, the party banger, "HomeWitMe," with its contagiously sick reggae flavored beat, she spits the lines, "I'll gladly/ Fake climaxing/ If you'll stop that and won't start spazzing/ If it keeps your ego in tact/ I'll pretend I came back to back/ How bout that". Yet, she still manages to not be a one dimensional MC by rapping about more than just sex. She examines the revolving door of long term relationships on the track, "Time," and confronts the issue of emotional neglect on the deeply personal song, "Nothing 2 U". She explains why you can't try to be all things to all people on the track "CantFukWitMe," and declares her adoration for the love of her life on the hip hop love song, "I Love You". Renaissance sums up her lyrical style by saying, "I'm truly an artist in every sense of the word. I can't rap about how many cats I shot 'cause I ain't shot nobody. But I have been in love and I have had my heart broken. And people feel it when they hear it 'cause they know if I spit I mean it. Every song on my album is personal to me".
