“A fine quintet set, a lot of stylistic diversity in the compositions, the package held together into an artistic whole by the versatality of the musicians. A must have CD for fans of the sax and trumpet in front of the rhythm section quintet mode…”— Dan McClenaghan, AllAboutJazz.com“Kelly returns in a wistful vein; shuffling gently, he doesn’t blow into his horn, he sighs. … The whole album comes at you like this – assertive, confident, and they do what they do very well.”— Jazz Improv Magazine“Here he is experimental, adventurous, and not at all tentative. … Rossum’s group is best when not playing it safe.”— Thomas R. Erdmann, ITG Jazz Editor Director of Bands and Trumpet Professor Elon University, Elon, North Carolina“This is Kelly's first venture as a leader, [and] I was happy to hear the complexity and craftsmanship of his compositions on this recording. … You are in for a treat!.”— Dr. Ron McCurdy, Professor of Music University of Southern California International Association of Jazz Educators, President“They say those who can't do, teach. Working to dispel that myth is Kelly Rossum, a Minneapolis trumpet player who has spent most of his adult life in musical academia. After teaching jazz at the University of Minnesota and [another university, incorrectly quoted], Rossum is stepping out as a bandleader. His debut disc, Party's Over/ Begun is a warm-and-smooth stew of sensitive balladry, dance-ready jazz waltzes and improvisational detours.”— St. Paul Pioneer Press, July 26, 2002 Party's Over/Begun Music | Category | Jazz Albums | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7300197 | | Catalog number | 103706 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Mar 18, 2003 |

Party's Over/Begun music CDs
$9.85 “Southern Hemisphere” the debut album for Australian singer/songwriter, Will Conner. Will Conner grew up in northern New South Wales, his parents fleeing the U.S.A in the late 60’s in search of a secluded, hippy and musical lifestyle that Byron had to offer. Will’s mother, Marion, taught him his first guitar chords and his father. Bill Conner, the infamous leather hat maker and the guitar player in the recently reformed Zanziband. Growing up, Will was surrounded by his family music and their muso friends, constantly soaking in all the knowledge that was on offer to him. In short, Will finished school, went over to Florida for a higher education, dropped out, started his own business and tried his hand at selling his father‘s hat’s whilst traveling around the world. After several years, the business has now grown to a successful International hat company. Will never traveling without pen and paper to write, or without an instrument to jam. “Southern Hemisphere” was produced in the USA by re-known producer, Jim Devito, and recorded at his studios in Florida (credits include Tom Petty, Donovan Frankenreiter and Creed). Along with Jim playing bass and harmonica on all tracks, Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Stan Lynch, plays drums and percussion on 3 tracks, (better known as an original member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and former touring drummer for Bob Dylan). Twelve of the tracks also feature drummer George Sluppick from U.S. Blues and Funk act MOFRO. “Southern Hemisphere” is lead by the single “HOME“, a toe tapping melody with a poetic sensibility. A simple, yet heartfelt lyric that will strike a chord to all that have experienced life on the road and longing for the familiarity and warmth that home provides.“Will is a rare and hugely talented singer/songwriter from Byron Bay and he is blessed with a deep and honest lyrical style, a buttery voice and musicality on the guitar and ukulele that ...
| | Ed Degenaro Nylon 'N' Steel CD (2006)
Party's Over/Begun songs
$7.35 Edward DeGenaro is a fusion guitarist whose unique mix of bebop and metal sounds, along with a whole lot of the DeGenaro personality, collectively called the “Nude Guitars” sound, has been compared to the likes of Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale, and Steve Vai. Ed’s journey in music began in Germany, where he was born and raised. At an early age, he studied cello but quickly picked up the guitar as his instrument of choice for venting his artistic expression. After receiving a degree in Performance and Teaching from the German National Conservatory of Music in Nuremberg, he worked as a “hired gun” guitarist and session player, performing all over Europe before relocating to LA and finally to Seattle, where he currently resides. His contributions, as a musician and an engineer, include numerous projects with major labels, musicians like Elliott Sharp, Steve Kimock, David Byron Band, Accept, Hammerhead, Alcatraz, and producers David Rosenthal (Rainbow, Robert Palmer) and Roy Thomas Baker. Recently, he just finished recording all the audio samples for Jack Zucker's Sheets Of Sound Vol II. He is also working on his soon-to-be-released CD called Dog House. In addition to recording, Ed also performs at various venues like the NAMM show and the NYC Fretless Guitar Festival. As with all fretless guitarists, Ed’s artistic expression and desire to create his own sound took him beyond the fixed frequencies of fretted guitars and into the realm of the unfretted. He is one of the few talented guitarists who can make shredding look effortless on a fretless guitar and make the guitar groove to just about any sonic exploration, ...
