Everybody's Here album
$6.79 Includes interviews with Maurice White, Verdine White and Phillip Bailey conducted by Leo Sacks.
Digitally remastered by Mark Wilder (Sony Music Studios, New York, New York.
The vocals, drumming, and production of Maurice White. The soaring falsetto of Philip Bailey. The fat, thumping basslines of Verdine White. That fantastic, piercing brass. All these ingredients combine to make Earth, Wind & Fire one of the premier R&B/jazz/funk bands of the 20th century and beyond. Compilation producer Leo Sacks has expertly remastered THE BEST OF to superior sonic quality and added two bonus tracks to boot.
"Got to Get You Into My Life" is a jazzy, soulfully swingin' take on the Lennon/McCartney composition. "Fantasy," perhaps the band's finest moment, combines stylistic percussion with inspiring harmonies. "Can't Hide Love" is finely crafted R&B sharpened to a glistening point by a tight horn section. "Love Music" is an uplifting groove that sounds brand new decades later. "Reasons" is a perfect R&B ballad, ...
| | Chris Brown Graffiti CD (2009)
Everybody's Here CD music
$11.18 Most of Graffiti is a natural progression for Chris Brown. Like many young cred-seeking male singers who have just exited their teenage years, Brown emphasizes womanizing and hedonism and balances it out with a couple clean and empty ballads, as well as a couple relatively lighthearted Europop numbers. A handful of songs deal with his relationship with Rihanna, as well as the fallout from his assault of her. ~ Andy Kellman
Most of Graffiti -- that is, the songs that do not detail what ex-girlfriend Rihanna and the rest of the world have done to him -- is a natural progression for Chris Brown. Like many young cred-seeking male singers who have just exited their teenage years, Brown clumsily emphasizes womanizing and hedonism and balances it out with a couple clean and empty ballads. Out of this portion of the album, only a couple songs leave a lasting impression, and when they do, the silly things that come out of Brown's mouth tend to be the reason; take "As stingy as you are, I think you ready," part of "Take My Time"'s chorus and hopefully no woman's idea of an effective bedroom line. A two-track patch of gloopy and gawky Europop, where he's on slightly better behavior, is at least more tolerable than the inane chest-puffing, but nothing comes close to the big singles from Brown's first two releases. The rest of this album could not have been voiced by anyone but a brat who pleaded guilty to the felonious assault ...
| | Michael Jackson Thriller CD (1982) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Special Edition
Everybody's Here music CDs
$5.99 The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. Each track offers at least one musical hook, whether it is the beauty of 'Human Nature' (who can resist the 'dada dada da da da') or the 'whoo whoo' of 'Billie Jean'. ...

It's always a sign that a group is hot if they release a holiday album mere months after their debut. That's the case with *NSYNC. Their debut was released in America in late March, and in early December, Home for Christmas hit the shelves. Much of the album is devoted to newer material, with only a handful of songs qualifying ...

| | Melanie Fiona Bridge CD (2009)
Everybody's Here CD music
$9.99 Melanie Fiona's debut single, "Give It to Me Right," was a perfect 2009 pop-R&B recording. The single coupled a timeless classic (the Zombies' "Time of the Season") with roof-raising vocals and infectious pop hooks that stuck like peanut butter. Fiona's single was perfect, albeit a touch formulaic. Because of this, it's no surprise that a large chunk of her debut album, THE BRIDGE, is much of the same. Like any good 2009 pop-soul recording, the album offers influences from decades of soul music. Fiona, a Kanye West protégé, collaborates with about as many styles ...

| | Coast Along With The Coasters CD (1962)
Everybody's Here album
$9.95 With the songwriting and production team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller behind them, the Coasters were easily one of the most interesting vocal groups of the late '50s and early '60s, and their singles always featured inventive arrangements and great sound, managing to deliver gritty R&B while simultaneously wooing a mainstream audience and climbing the pop charts. Coast Along with the Coasters collects the group's Atco singles from 1959, 1960, and 1961, and was originally released on LP in 1962. Most of the ...
| | Marvin Gaye How Sweet It Is: The Love Songs CD (2006)
Everybody's Here CD music
$8.79 Marvin Gaye was a subtle, graceful singer with an innate and intimate sense of phrasing, and few singers in his era could handle a love song the way he could. This set mixes some well-known hits like "Let's Get It On," "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)," and "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby" with more incidental fare, and while it is both ...
